They blew us out of the building at their place earlier and could be the best team in the B1G, but we get them at home next week. Our guys and the building should be juiced. Can we give them a game as we did against Michigan State? Would love to see it...

With Mike Williams and momentum, yes. Without Mike Williams and losses piling up? Probably not. Hopefully we can beat Illinois the game prior so there is some positive juice.

If we can beat PA St and Illinois, the building will definitely be juiced. If we drop both, it'll be more subdued. Need to get at least one between now and then.

PSU coming off their BIG win at OSU on the road will give them a TON of confidence players Rutgers on their home court. Not sure the players on our team understand the hatred of PSU and be as hyped as they were vs. the Hall.

As for Purdue...like I said in the other thread....I can see Refs already in this one...

Can go either way. PA St is coming off a big win and is on short rest - they might be amped and come out firing, or they might have a let down game after the emotional win.

yup....I heard Nebby was horrible on the road (1-7) and coming off a tough game and short rest the other night. Well they actually shot like that....so I guess it really matters what Rutgers team shows up and if we can find 40+ shooting %. (beating those guys would wipe out Wed's frustration for me).

Likely its the same thing as usual(not negative its just how we roll)

Corey gets his points
Freeman helps out

Then its a crapshoot IF someone steps up & heaven forbid TWO guys get 10-15pts each(Baker or Omoruyi pls)
While Doorson, Sa, Thiam chip in as best they can
Mensah & Bullock are invisible so far...but give our guards a breather

OVERALL
1-we try to play good D
2-REB try to well
3-try to keep it close with 2 min to go
and
hope Corey lights on fire

In B10 games so far thats what weve done

The season is at a crossroads. We lose both psu and Illinois then the wheels are completely off and we’re in a tailspin.

Purdue is one of the rare teams that has balanced scoring with great size inside and 3 point shooters outside. They will probably quiet the crowd rather quickly and it will be interesting to watch fan reaction as the point spread widens in the second half. The worse matchup of the season by far.

No. We are a complete mismatch with Purdue. Just one of those we have to play. I hope the score is closer but they clog the middle and play some of the most aggressive defense in the country. On top of that they have two players at 7-2 and 7-3 and incredible shooting guards. I think they are as good as anyone in the country and the only big 10 team with a chance to win it all.

That freshman on Purdue who looks like Ivan Drago from RockyIV is very annoying. I have found myself rooting against them whenever I see them on tv. But I don't think we have the horses to beat them even at the RAC

If Roy Hinson and John Battle played in their prime I think we would lose.

Purdue might go undefeated in conference play this season. They have 5 different players shooting >40% for 3 on the season (on a a lot of attempts) and even if all the shooters have a bad game, they still have probably the most dominant low post scorer in the conference if not the country. Haas is so damn tall and heavy that he can body his weigh into perfect position before he gets the ball almost every time and then he's so big nobody can alter his shot consistently.

Throw in very good defense and they are going to be a really tough out. Maybe somebody can catch them in the Big Ten or NCAA tourney on a short turn around and get lucky, but it's going to be tough.

They didnt look unbeatable today vs IU. I know that its a great rivalry and all and that a sold out RAC doesnt compare to a sold out Assembly Hall but the fact still remains. And plus we have a bunch of bigs to throw at their 7 footers. IU’s tallest current player is 6’7”. Not saying it WILL be competitive but we gotta give our boys at least a chance to be.

First things first: They have to beat Maryland on Wednesday otherwise it will be a bloodbath beyond belief.

This is a terrible match up for RU and if Purdue is mad it'll be even worse.

I would like to pray for a return of Mike Williams miracle, but that seems unlikely.
