Can you park and tailgate at Johnson park?

Attending the Rutgers game next Saturday and it’s been a while since I’ve been to a game. Can you park and tailgate at Johnson park before games? If so what time does it open? I saw a thread on this earlier in the year but their seemed to be conflicting answers. Thanks!

On the dates below, portions of Johnson Park will be closed to vehicular traffic for the Rutgers University Home Football Games at SHI Stadium. Click here for a map showing roads that will be closed to vehicles and through traffic, and parking lots that will be closed. Thank you. I have been to home games, but always got parking passes in the past. I saw that but was a little confused by this sentence:

Parking for football games is NOT PERMITTED in Johnson Park.

I guess they mean it’s not permitted for free. Anyway thanks for the information, always appreciated!
