Carino Interview of Pike

this is a message board not a cheering section for journalists

people posts their opinions here...not sure where the site suddenly became a news organization or how anyone actually made it into one

weird post

you are free to drop in your heroes dms
You don’t get it. Shocking.

If Pike had any brains he would offer Harper and Bailey a $1 mil each to come back and then use the rest of the revenue share on building out the remaining spots with an emphasis on a rim protector.
For that amount Pike might be able to get Sommerville to drop his portal plans and pick up a pretty good player in the portal. But offering two potential top 5 picks that type of money offer to stay would just have both of them give you a " are you crazy" look as they walk away.

Huh? No. Lathan is leaving to get more money. Plain and simple. It’s not worth the money that another team is going to pay him to keep him here. It has nothing to do with Ace and Dylan. It wouldn’t be worth it regardless.

It also lead to a historic loss because they couldn’t score.

College basketball is more offensive than ever. You have to be able to defend but it you can’t score it won’t matter.

There’s more than one way to score. Teams that apply a lot of pressure can do well with a collection of good transition scorers / players. And there are plenty of guys out there like that who are nothing special in traditional halfcourt sets but can really put points on the board in transition. JY comes to the front of mind.

Seems like he understands he's got to change and is confident in it. He wants to embrace a GM.

I give him credit for taking on a challenge he's not comfortable with. Good luck, coach! I'd feel bad if he wasn't making millions doing this, lol.
Agree which is great but I’d be happier if 4th on his list was shooting %. Also need someone else to run the offense .

Milwaukee led the country in fastbreak points at 18ppg.
Let's say that goes to 30 for Rutgers next year (which seems wildly unattainable).
That's still less than half our points.

You still need to have players who can shoot and score points.

You can’t just look at that. It only includes pure fast break points. Does not include the points off turnovers that occur when you have numbers but don’t fit the official definition of Fast break.

I don’t care about modern offense, I want to go back to being 18-1 at the Rac and making NCAA tournaments off defense. Defense always kept us in every game. ISO Pikeball is what I want to see.

I mean some type of basic hybrid flex when we are in half court wouldn’t hurt
