Important part of this article is not only do we have a limited NIL budget, but whatever donors we do have are incredibly shaky in terms of following through on the payment. Seems Pike had to do work to get whatever we did promise to go through, and goes back to a rumor that we weren't paying players, and is partly why Cam, Paul left. I don't see how people think we are just going to get a new coach and all of a sudden have millions to play with in the NIL world.
All fair but one could argue the right coach who understands the current college basketball landscape could do exactly that. Engage with corporation, businesses, and wealthy alumni to partner on future opportunities and athletes.
St. John’s has had Repole for decades they just needed the right coach to establish culture and make ppl comfortable to donate to a winning product.
To date , Pike instills no confidence in the alumni or larger RU basketball family. Unfortunately for him without that he is obsolete.

Some of you said we had the money to get players. You were wrong it’s why we ended up with the roster we have. Kids that don’t belong here and Freshmen. Most of you bash but won’t donate a dime but still want to win lol. Poor Pike was in a tough spot and still is. Pike coaches team with the cheapest fanbase that ever lived. We got guys like BAC who lives and breathes Rutgers sports and does nothing but shit on everything Rutgers related and never has donated a dime. Everyone failed this year including this fanbase.
As people mentioned there is an element of instilling belief in the program and being a salesmen for the program to generate that $$$

If you don’t earn that trust from fans with wins then you better be a great salesman and Pike has been neither the last couple years
Pitino has Vitamin Water money we have none of that. What we have are excuse makers and fans who push the goal posts all the time. A real Journalist just informed us that Pike had no money to get players. He also had an athletic director looking to get laid and not do his job. That same AD got no where with donors because of the Schiano hiring fiasco. Instead of saying enough is enough our fans keep blaming Pike. There is a matching NIL fundraiser going on that can get us a million dollars for players. Instead of complaining how about helping out.
i already did help out i have helped out every year since NIL became a thing
i am just stating there is an element of instilling belief and credibility in the program
the fact is because we don't have a whale or a couple of donors who can contribute the lions share we are relying on a collective which is a village instead of a king
i think a lot of people do their part more than you think but the check a regular joe can write and the one vitamin water can write are not the same
I disagree I Believe the complete opposite and the recent past and the efforts to raise money is what I’m basing my belief in that.

Maybe if you call the fanbase cheap for the 1,958,984th time people will open up these secret pocketbooks and flood the AD with money?
