In honor of Mitchell coming it got me thinking who was best WR at RU over the last 15 years. How would you rank Carroo, sanu and Britt against each other purely based on the field performance.

If I had one pick I think i would take sanu first. Followed by Carroo and Britt.

I think Britt was most talented WR but sanu and caroo were better football players.

In college, right?

Mo had the best hands. Leonte had the knack for big plays where it counted (TDs). Britt was physically just more gifted that the other two.

College: Carroo, Sanu, Britt
Pros: Britt then Sanu with Carroo ending up anywhere. I would probably draft Carroo before Britt gun to my head. Britt is a top 20 receiver when he's not hurt or suspended.

Caroo?

Sanu had the best hands ever for a Rutgers receiver. Britt was most physically gifted.

I think I would rate Sanu first because of his versatility. He was very valuable (at the time) in wildcat first downs, great catches, and being double teamed at times to open up other wr's. I think Carroo and Britt are tied for second because they get separation, go up for the ball and can take it away from defenders. JMHO

Carroo. Combined breakaway/TD ability (al la Britt) with possession/move the chains hands & toughness (al la Sanu). Would take Sanu 2nd. Britt had the ability and the "presence" but never (at least for RU) was as effective as the other two.

Never as effective as the other two? LOL...Britt ended up his RU career with 700 or 800 more yards receiving than both those guys. His junior year(his last) is below:

6-89 14.8
8-109 13.6
7-64 9.1
12-151 12.6
4-51 12.8
9-107 11.9
5-143 28.6
9-107 11.9
8-173 21.6
10-197 19.7

3-61 20.3
6-119 19.8

Sanu had 7 100 yard games in his last season here...Britt had 8...Carroo had 4.

Britt had the second best receiving yards in a season in big east history behind Larry Fitzgerald. Britt had back to back seasons of more yards than Sanu and Carroo ever had. Britt is the only player to have two seasons in the Big East top ten all time in receiving yards. He did that while sharing catches with Underwood, another receiver who played in the league. Who did Sanu and Carroo share receptions with?

Britt had 14 100-yd games at RU. Carroo had 12 and Sanu had 10.

I agree with this. It's hard to argue Sanu had better hands than Carroo when Carroo had less than 5 drops in his career. Don't get me wrong. I loved Sanu. Britt had some big drops.

What big drops did Britt have?

Somewhere a mike has dropped.

Sanu
Carroo

You guys have no idea the athletic specimen that we had in Britt. If only he had a Brain. F#@k a circus catch. Britt was in his own league! You know all those Miami great WRs and Larry Fitzgerald at Pitt? Britts The All Big East leading reciever.

Britt was also the alot younger than Sanu and Carroo. Infact he was the youngest player in his draft class and in The whole NFL at one time.

Sanu had over 20 red zone TDs (including his "wildcat" runs) and Britt had 2. Sanu played when RU team was mostly rubbish - horrific OL and snakebit QB situation.. Britt played with Teel, Ray Rice and a great OL. Most of Britt's yards were on long strikes in midfield (and often when defenses were worried about Rice). With Britt and Underwood, RU was the champion of midfield empty-calorie yards. The red zone offense was horrible. Underwood had more drops than TDs and Britt never was the red zone monster people assume. Sanu would almost always mug a DB for a ball. He would often mug 2 DBs for a ball. Sanu always left a trail of bodies - often blowing people up comic book style. Sanu had circus hands. Britt liked balls he could either trap or have drop into extended arms (he was good at the long ball up the sideline). I think Sanu was just a total awesome football player who could do almost anything. Put Britt on the 2010 crappy team and Sanu on the 06-08 teams and Sanu would have better stats. I think Carroo is a more talented WR than Britt but he had a strange career.

Britt and its not close. Anyone who says otherwise is too young to remember or appreciate what britt did here. Dude would do back flips coming out of the pregame. ...he was by far the most athletic and explosive.

He was also drafted higher than carroo and sanu so even the professionals agree

I'm 33. Been following team since 2001seson my freshman year. Who were the better receivers in Rutgers history?
my post sounded a little prickish, I didn't intend it that way so sorry if you took it like that:) You can never get tone in these messages and reading it now, looked that way

that said, Funderburk never dropped a ball and made some spectacular catches, I mean spectactular but he was short
Tres Moses probably had the best hands of any receiver, he was Battagliaesque....

I think Kenny Britt had the biggest upside in terms of raw talent. He was NFL ready. Then I would say Sanu, a very good talent and an unbelievable work ethic. Last but not least I would say Caroo. His size hurts him, but he posses great hands and speed. Listen, at the end of the day much depends on heart, desire and luck.
