I dunno how i feel about this. On the one hand you have to respect the loyalty but on the other hand its pretty dissapointing since we need him to hit the ground running on recruiting. Its even more so when you look at guys like Baber's and Richt who are leaving immediately to help their new teams.

He is a coordinator, not the head coach, and they already have another defensive coordinator. Very bad job by Rutgers, Ash, and Meyers.

I would not be sure on that. Once we understand who his OC and DC will be and whether his assessment of talent matches that of Flood, then we will know if we are set or not. I still would like to make areal run at Gary, Fuller, and a few others that are committed to State Penn.

Despite what movies and television teach us not everything in life is adversarial. Ash wants to hit the ground running and succeed; there are many things he can do before officially coming on board. Reason would say that Ash, Hobbs, Smith and Meyer worked out something that both schools can live with.

But if Ash is announced Monday and does not start working for RU immediately, I will be hugely disappointed in Hobbs for hiring him and allowing this to occur. dead period doesn't start until the 13th. we have recruits on campus on the 11th. you think they will want to talk to coaches who won't be here by the time signing day comes around?

this coming week is his only chance at recruiting before the dead period starts. and when it does start, he can do logistical things. the guy has to move from ohio to NJ in the middle of recruiting season. every day counts. or at least it should.

Until they name an Off Coordinator , Russo is very much a question mark. If he switches to Pitt or somewhere else, RU needs to recruit another QB post haste. We do have a good walk on QB coming in, Clements, but not many walk on QBs wind up being starter or even backup. You never know.

Hopefully, media reports are inaccurate. If I still lived in NJ I wouldn't hesitate in the next TD Club meeting to say to the new coach and new A.D. what I thought about the new coach coaching his old team in a bowl game. If he was not going to start working at the start, full time, he should not have been hired. Period. He is not Urban Meyer. He is a B1G coordinator, nothing more, nothing less. If Ohio State offered one of our coaches, and someday maybe Ash, as its head coach, does anyone believe that the coach would not be out of here in a nanosecond.
