... only problem is that Hackensuck plays for the Jetophiles and not the Eagles. 2nd straight week that the Jets' loss was due to a Hackenberg interception. Overall, CH was 11 for 31 for 54 yards, an average of less than 2 yards per attempt!!! I can't even imagine what the QB rating is for that type of performance.

To the surprise of no one who actually watched him play in college, Hackenberg was abysmal last night. 11-31 for 54 yards and a pick-6.

As a Jet (and Giant) fan, I almost threw a brick threw my T.V. when the Jets selected Hackenberg in the draft. And it had nothing to do with him having played at Penn State. It's because he stinks. Period.

And enough of this, "oh, he had bad coaching or a bad o-line" nonsense. So far, he's done exactly what he did in college. He'll throw a 25 yard strike, hitting his receiver right between the numbers in stride on one play. Looking like an all-pro. But the very next play he'll throw a ball 5 feet over the head of a running back on a simple screen pass.

It makes you wonder if these NFL GM's bother to watch actual game tape or do they just go to the combine and think, wow, he has a stong arm. And he's big. Let's pick him.

Jets took their 2nd round pick this past year and threw it in the garbage. Drives me nuts.

Glad I'm not a Jets fan. Unfortunately I'm a Vikings fan, and Bridgewater is out for the saeson....

Thank you for your expert evaluation. I'm sure your qualifications for judging talent is beyond reproach.

Having said that, Hackenberg still managed to beat Rutgers twice while quarterbacking a Penn State team crippled by sanctions. How'd that happen?

However, now that he's moved on to the NFL, I wonder how the Knights will fare this season with a home game under the lights, in a packed stadium, opposing a youthful PSU team at full strength who'll be starting a young, mobile QB?

I anxiously await your professional opinion on how this game will play out. Thanks again.

What pisses me off is he had one of those good throws against Rutgers in the 4th Q to lead to the winning score. The rest of the game he was crap.

In defense of Hackenberg, the entire team stunk and that INT came in the 3rd quarter with plenty of time for the team to get one score. The INT he threw was an extremely bad one though. He should have taken the sack.

I'm convinced that some of our posters are obsessed with Christian Hackenberg.

He doesn't play for PSU anymore and is scheduled to hold a clipboard for the Jets this season. A year from now we can start to judge him as a prospective NFL QB. The only thing he did wrong was to beat RU twice the past two seasons.

Anyone want to bet there won't be more threads about him on this board this season ?

Agreed. He will get more threads than Tom Savage. The fascination with him is fascinating. Yes, I posted above, just for fun about star rankings and nothing against or for Hackenberg. I don't really think about him unless someone posts here.

Bryce Petty getting his shoulder blown up in the game secured CH's spot on the Jets. Can't believe they where actually going to carry 4 QB's on the roster.

It's ridiculous to see so many people happy about this. Honestly if he did amazing in the NFL how bad would that make the PSU coaching staff look?

I doubt if they were. Geno was probably headed to waivers before Petty's misfortune.

Some thought Geno was Minnesota bound with Teddy getting hurt, but that rumor seems to have died.

And it is really foolish to judge ANY QB or ANY team in a preseason game. I get it, some here just get their jollies off of Hackenberg doing poorly, but in another sense, I don't get why that is so.

Hackenberg didn't do much against RU either game. It was outstanding defense in game 1 and Barkley in game 2 that beat RU.

Game #1 RU turns the ball over 5? times yet PSU only scores 13 points.

Game #2 Hackenberg goes 10-19 for 140 yards with 0 TD and 1 Int. Barkley runs for close to 200 yards.

Note to anybody that enjoys betting on NFL games ... consider taking the UNDER for most Eagles' games this year.

Their defense is one of the best in the league right now. Their offense just as bad as the defense is good. I don't know what to think of my team right now.

CH is like a minor league pitcher who can throw 98 mph but has no control and no savvy-- the team will give him a lot of chances. QBs who can throw as hard as CH are hard to find.

Guys, im an RU fan and don't like pee state,
But I'm also a Jets fan, and from what I show
In the games he was in this pre season, I think he will make the team and some time down the road he will be the starting QB,you can teach lots of things but not a strong arm, and he has, A strong arm!!!!

If that's all they do, then a lot of our fan-base could be NFL GMs. 'Cause, judging by last season, a not-insubstantial portion of our fan-base has strong-arm tunnel vision when it comes to QB evaluation.

Between agents, combine-training enterprises, college football programs with ties to NFL organizations talking up their "products", NFL teams seeking local marketing, ESPN's HYPE machine selling "BIG" games with "BIG" stars when the kids are in college... add in NFL teams wanting t mislead other teams... there is probably more misinformation out there than real information.

At the end of the day, though, it's Hackenberg who is suiting up on Sunday, and the rest of us are on the interwebs.

Ryan Leaf had a strong arm, too!

Hackenberg has a lot of mechanical issues with his throwing that I doubt will ever be overcome.

Knightmoves - any threads about him will diminish as the season goes on, as he has 0% chance of seeing the field this year in the regular season. If Fitz, Geno, and Petty all go down, the Jets will sign a veteran before they would turn the reigns over to Hackensuck.
