You're not alone. I switched over to DE shaving about a year ago. Won't ever go back to cartridge shaving again!Any other classic / DE shavers out there? The fanbase seems pretty diverse, just curious whether I'm all alone or not

So far what I like best is Proraso sandalwood shave soap (red container), badger brush and Feather blades. I don't have a brand name razor like a Mercur or anything, but looking to get one in the future.
What do you use?
I've been bitten by the bug, so I've bought a bit of each, but I'm liking "Mitchell's Wool Fat" & "Mike's Natural" the most as far as soaps go. My go to razor is a "Above The Tie" DE although I've got quite a few Gillette "New" razors. For brushes I'm liking a Semogue 620 boar and a Paladin badger. You're not alone. Yeah a EJ 89 is a nice razor, have one myself:sunglasses: I've got Wilkinsons, but I seem to have better luck with Astra bladesJust bought an Edwin Jagger, very nice clean shave with no nicks. I like the Wilkonson sword blades. Much cheaper than the cartridges.
Yeah shave soap (& tub creams) gives much better protectionnot using the razors but switched to bar soap and brush about 2 years ago and its great. gels are a rip off... i'm buying bulk packs of "disposable" bic 3 blade razors that are pretty good for about 10-15 shaves and pretty reasonable price.
My son talked me into using the Edwin Jagger. I love it, but use it only as a second pass shave to get extra close. I might start using it as a first pass soon, but there are spots you just can't get to because of the size of the head.Just bought an Edwin Jagger, very nice clean shave with no nicks. Editing to add:
You can buy a $30 razor & 1000 blades for $11- $18, then you'll really be saving $$.
(Actually you might catch the bug & buy even more gear, I know I did)
I just never shave. My beard has never been longerI'm a real man with a real beard & swarthy as a slav. I started using Lubriderm instead of shaving cream & now shaving is a snap
I have a straight razor, but after I gave myself a good nick with it on the first shave I decided to set it aside. It glares at me from a darkened room, inside a safe, set in concrete, under the basement...WHAT? Not a STRAIGHT RAZOR among you?I thought we were supposed to be Rutgers MEN?:sunglasses:
It's easy to post stuff as I did. Entre nous,I use an electric.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:I have a straight razor, but after I gave myself a good nick with it on the first shave I decided to set it aside. It glares at me from a darkened room, inside a safe, set in concrete, under the basement...
