Classic Response By Flood

1. Duggan is no less of a c*nt than the rest of them
2. Flood is clearly pissed over the fact that he's getting jacked by "leaks" within the university administration. I'm seriously starting to wonder at what point we make that the story, as opposed to anything that Flood may or may not have done.

Once this investigation concludes, I hope they open another investigation to find out how it is that a reporter can say to Flood "We have a report that you've been told not to contact any professors".

There can only be a small number of people who would know that. And whoever told Dan Duggan that needs to go away.

Major props to Flood for his response to a pr*ck of a reporter's dumb question.
Unless the investigation unearths something completely different, my support for the university's administration is further eroding, as my respect for the athletic department inversely increases.

Flood did the right thing there. The beat reporters covering RU are an inexperienced and/or low pedigreed lot, many who have come of age in the TMZ era and everything is filtered through that prism. Flood did right here, and likely wishes he didn't issue his first I do it all the time comment at the outset weeks ago.

every time i visit this website i get pissed off, usually because of the ledger. Would rather be ignorant and not have any clue what's going on.

for those of us who can't watch at work, can someone tell us the transcript?

Kyle Flood, on Wednesday, was not happy to learn that school officials were leaking information to the media.

"So what you're saying to me is, that a process that I've been told from the university not to comment on was commented on by people from the university? I'm going to continue to respect the process and I won't have any further comment until the end of the process.''

So the SL sends Jimmy Olsen cub reporter, sorry Jimmy, wearing a Polo shirt to a new conference? Low class organization.

why the hell is that guy so close? He almost looks like part of the RU staff.
Great control by Flood to not just cold cock the clown.

He thought he was going to get the scoop, so he was trying to get in the camera angle. Instead he just got the appropriate "no comment"

Sheepishly shakes his head to Flood's inquiry. Couldn't even get out a yes?

Class act representing a class media outlet.....NOT!

So was the "unnamed University official" by Flood. I hope that person is outed and made to look classless like they are.

My god, I hope it isn't Barchi!!!!!!!!!!!

My question is this... if we already have "unnamed University officials" snitching and spreading crap to the press about this, doesnt this compromise the integrity of the entire investigation itself? I mean seriously, this is like a juror running to the media and blurting out his opinion to the press before the deliberation and verdict is even reached. What gives??? What the hell kind of investigation is this?

It's becoming more and more evident that nj(.)com is in bed with the RU counter-football brigade and just pays people to make crap up.

The "Grant Chant." That is certainly one way to get the students in their seats early!

I have to say that, after a good recruiting season (as coach just had), it is a shame that the focus of the season has been derailed like this. Want to run the guy out of town? Can we at least just wait until after the season ends? Ugh.

Oh and Duggan is wearing a Boston Athletics Association (Boston Marathon) hat. Is he a runner or something?

These investigations aren't real, fact finding missions. They are people running for cover while allowing lawyers to bilk the school. Clusterfork, as usual with this stuff.

Our administration blows to high heaven.

Classic response by Flood to the question from Duggan at the beginning of his time with the press today...

Actually, nothing wrong with the question or answer. There was a leak, so clearly, the university side has an issue with the process and the response was "there is a process and I'll respect it." Question asked and answered. Nothing more. If there is a story it may be an investigation on whether the university may have a large issue of being able to properly run a process.

Coach Flood is all class. Great response to the question.

I am also thrilled to hear that they will be honoring Dr. Tim Hosea this Saturday and with a helmet sticker all season long. Tim would be embarrassed but secretly love it.

Classy Rutgers. Very Very Classy. [thumb2][thumb2]:clap:

Dr. Hosea was a good guy, but from personal experience, not great at his job.

I'm glad this story is giving Flood some fire. Would love to have a HC melt NJ.com reporters just from the heat of his gaze. haha. This story has a life of its own and what's more surprising is that bloggers from ESPN and other sports "news" outlets are following it and treating it like they're about to uncover something more corrupt than any UNC scandal or the fact that Auburn admittedly stated that their athletics influenced the university to dumb things down so their student-athletes couldn't be held to a higher standard.

This whole thing is dumber than buying a 12oz soda for $1.49 from 7-11 instead of buying a 2 liter from the grocery store for $99 that's bogo.

Chuckled at the question near the end around the potential payout if the opening kickoff is taken back for a TD. KF made a comment that the students are probably jazzed for that and that Grant would likely be booed if he took a touchback.

Say wha ?

For a while I thought Duggan ate his own lips since I didn't see any for the first few minutes... I almost felt some sympathy for him. Fortunately he showed his total douchiness by making a duck face at the end and I can go back to my usual sinister thoughts.

Haha, probably not the best comparison I could make. But I stand by my comments!

All I can say is Barchi once again hides and spends funds unnecessarily on outside counsel. Makes one ask does he ever make a decision on his own and based on a gut feeling as to what is right and what is wrong rsther In all probability he will retire on June so there is nothing he should fear.

For once Dr. Barchi be a leader and your own man. You've not only put Kyle in tough spot but also your AD and even your faculty as well a a great loss of respect from alumni. The way you are going your legacy will not be the med school merger but how you've managed to screw up the lives of several people and waste university funds on outside counsel and opinions and shed a poor light on the athletic program. The only comparison is over 2015 years ago with a man named Pilate. Tough comparison but one that cannot be denied.

RU4real...totally agreed with your earlier post. The real story as you say is the leaks. Not only on this but several other things involving Rutgers athletics. If Barchi can't see this or understand that this should be a major issue that truly deserves review by outside sources then he is a no better than blind man.

Here's an interesting tidbit on Barchi from 2 weeks ago:

"New Brunswick Today later revealed Barchi made at least $639,495 off of the $6 billion sale of the private company, where he was paid handsomely to serve on the Board of Directors.

The company was sold to LabCorp in February. Both companies do business with the university, raising ethical concerns about Barchi's conflict of interest."

Lots of this going on in N.J., and elsewhere.

Nice. Insulting the integrity of his employer. Not a great career move but knowing the way the university operates, I have a lot of respect for coach flood and his statement.

Ive always said, I'd like to see a Rutgers that lives up to the integrity demonstrated by its football program.
