He put himself in that category and these guys are only doing what their colleagues are doing in this market. But you're right, coaches have always been the worst offenders. Look at Todd Graham's exit from Pitt as one of many exhibit As."It's a process and takes time. Can't expect instant results and gratification."
Until contract comes up.
He just signed an extension with a pay bump from $4.5m to $6m.
He was signed through 2025.
Why the rush for instant gratification and look for a salary increase so soon?
But sure, blame the players who might transfer.
I was just about to say lol. It's another inexplicable AD move and contract."It's a process and takes time. Can't expect instant results and gratification."

That's just an assumption. Year 1 looked good on offense but looked worse the next 2 years compared to it. In actuality, the answer is we don't know. Maybe it's better, maybe it's the same, maybe it's worse. Same for the defense. We also don't operate in a vacuum. The teams around us can be better, same or worse. We don't know. All you can do is be hopeful but it's not a given.Next year with Brown back and Gavin having established his place we will be a better offense team.
I can go along with the message in general.I personally didn’t look up his information,
i was more talking about the message in “Life’s general terms” which pretty much applies across the spectrum..
Exactly they want to be rewarded with guaranteed contracts and extensions for minimal improvement, but then don't want to be held accountable when standards aren't met. If one of their players wasn't living up to standards they would be replaced and recruited over.take away guaranteed contracts and let's see the difference
Not to mention, sometimes coaches might be wrong about a player. If a coach thinks a player will never be a starter and should be happy to be 3rd string but the player wants to start and goes off somewhere to make it happen they certainly should be allowed. Determination gets you very far in life. Some coaches might erroneously be content to waste a player's opportunity.Exactly they want to be rewarded with guaranteed contracts and extensions for minimal improvement, but then don't want to be held accountable when standards aren't met. That is the old way of building a program. It all had to be built from within and developed. Now with the portal you may be building a roster that has the ability to move other places. I like the old way of developing players and a program, but you run the risk of developing players for some other roster.Thank you! People are so impatient. I've been saying Greg 2.0 year one doesn't really count..Last year and this year are the building blocks for the turn around. This team will be more established and better next year, because they are learning on the job. But there will be those who don't get it, and don't know Greg 1.0, how long it took, so, the pieces are starting be put in place. Even the portal...you have to have success on the field before kids want to transfer here who have elite talent. Chicken or the Egg syndrome. Growth happened this year for sure. Next year with Brown back and Gavin having established his place we will be a better offense team.
As usual, great minds think alike. I review the previous coaches' records too.I was just about to say lol. It's another inexplicable AD move and contract.
WTH was he bumped up for....he hasn't done anything worthy of it from what I can tell. Grass seems plenty green for him or other coaches who move on to situations they perceive to be better. l have no issues with it, do what you think is best for you but same should be applied to players.
Drinkwitz' records

And here are the records for the guy he replaced, Barry Odom.
And found this on his extension:I was just about to say lol. It's another inexplicable AD move and contract.

I think certainly 3 year contracts should be the standard again for them. Rare is the coach who really needs to be signed for longer. Without a doubt some get too comfortable.players are renewed each year, maybe coaches should have the same
Mizzou being a late comer to the SEC, maybe not?Interesting.. Mizzou needs a win to get back to a bowl game... they play Arkansas who is 6-5. Gonna be tough. Maybe SEC refs will toss em a bone or two.. get another bowl team.
Seems like a low bar. Thankfully, we don't have that scenario at Rutgers. No extensions or raises anytime soon (hopefully).
Not sure if seriousUntil contract comes up.

6-6 would be awesome … 7-6 after winning a crappy bowl … sign me upHate to say it, but if GS goes 6-6 next year, I think RU will give him an extension. Especially if he wins the bowl game.
Should that extension happen, it seems pretty clear that board meltdowns and exploding heads will be a widespread phenomenon ‘round here. 😀
Long suffering fans should have shirts that say "I'm ducking fisgusted."As usual, great minds think alike. I review the previous coaches' records too.
Missouri has not been truly competitive since Pinkel retired for medical reasons. While not as bad, could be a post-Pelini Nebrask or post-Mangino Kansas situation to get back to winning ways.
The coach salary issue is a huge fly in the ointment for head coaches begging for fans to open their wallets for NIL. It takes a lot of hubris for a person making north of $1M/year (and in most cases more than $4M/year) to chide fans to "give more." An appropriate response is- how about you forego a couple/few million/year to fund your winning team? Yeah, that would not fly because of the rules. Being a fan is becoming less fun in this environment.
Coaches should have shirts that say "I need more time" on the front and "I need more money" on the back.
Hate to say it, but it will be astonishing if we get even close to 6 wins next season. Too many losses at WR, CB, S, and DT with no talent ready to step in. Add in QB instability and 4 wins will most likely be the upside.Hate to say it, but if GS goes 6-6 next year, I think RU will give him an extension. Especially if he wins the bowl game.
