Congrats to him.

Doesn't seem like an on-field assistant position - his title is defensive consultant.

Sounds alot like the Fridge's roll last year.

nice guy, hard worker, good for him..maybe not that great for RU.recruiting wise.

Maybe gets a kid to visit if there's a preexisting relationship but do you think it will matter if he's not their position coach or a member of the 9 man staff?

I have no idea. Just asking.

Is he the second of Flood's coaches to get a job? Tells you how this staff was viewed by their peers.

Edit- In review, I believe this is 4. Guys to Temple, Bcu, NFL and now Pitt. Still though...

Still though nothing. It shows they all are going to end up getting jobs. And before someone else posts it

This is the worst possible outcome!!!:scream:

It all comes down to 1.) recruiting and 2.) development.

Prior staff was average at best in both categories and I think I'm being pretty generous...

I don't mind rooting for Pitt in the ACC, at all. And as far as out of state schools that can attract New Jersey players, I'd prefer Pitt over Temple, BC, SEC or any Big Ten team.

Ash interviewed Paganos. Ash passed on Paganos. That's good enough for me.

I wish him luck. He was one of the few coaches the actually brought something to the table I thought.

He's a non paid volunteer(we're still on the hook for his salary) same as Barthel down at Temple. He can recruit on campus and can't coach at any point, basically he breaks down film and can talk to on staff coaches. Who went to the NFL? Last I recall Campinale was the only one to receive a paying job to a lame duck coach.

McDaniels to Da Bears

I believe our former OC took a role with an NFL team.
Ahh yes McDaniels became quality control with his former boss Fox over at Chicago. Thanks for the heads up I would say that's a step down but at least he should be off the books. I don't really know what those guys make a lot of times the old school has to make up the difference.

Pitt was "too good" at rushing the passer.....they need a defensive consultant that will help put an end to that.......jk, lol

Great!! Another guy we'll be paying to recruit against us.

By all accounts a good guy, well-liked and arguably the best coach on Flood's staff. I wish him well.

Our defensive line go eaten alive the past couple of years. He also wasn't luring any big time recruits here. Don't see him as much of a loss at all and don't see why we should worry about him at Pitt.
