Coaching Carousel 2016

Drexel had a horrible season this year....15 years is a very long time in coaching at one school like Drexel, where you are battling tooth and nail for Philly talent that you need to keep away from the bigger schools.

Take a look at Bruiser Flint in March 2012. looking at his body of work it could have been argued that he'd be a candidate for the RU job. It does show how much of a crapshoot this all is.

what it also means is that guys take risks by staying in lower level jobs. People ask "why we he leave XYZ?" Because there is no guarantee they will keep winning, and then they have lost the chance at a big pay day at a high major.

Valid point, ruman. It is not necessarily always wise to stand pat. Additionally, as to why someone would take the RU job, think of Urban Meyer who was originally reluctant to take his first head coaching opportunity at Bowling Green because he thought it was a bad job. His mentor told him to take it because those are the jobs that open up-difficult ones. Great jobs don't fall in your lap.

exactly. It's why I always laughed at the would coach x leave the MAC to come to RU. Look at Cristobol who is still waiting for another chance. Fleck should have been a shoe in for Illinois.........When a P5 comes calling you go. Before anyone brings up Herman, he's getting paid like a P5 coach while he waits for a Texas P5 job to open.

Looks like Matt Brady at JMU is in trouble - and he has a pretty nice record.

He has a 20k buyout and they have been knocked out of the CAA quarterfinals three years in a row
