Maryland beat USF- which is sadly more quality than any win we had and Illinois is 3-1, with better wins than we have over Kent State and Middle Tennessee.
We have not beaten one FBS team with a win against an FBS team.
Purdue, maybe. They still scored 24 against VT, which I doubt we could, considering we got slightly more against the worst p5 team.
So at best, we're third from the worst. Yay!
Potential worse teams:
Vandy, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virgina, Purdue, Maryland, Illinois.
I would throw Wash State in there too. Yes they beat us at the last second but that game could have gone either way. They also lost to a 1AA.
There are a lot of bad teams in college football. Yes we aren't very good, are short handed and banged up but I don't think we're 2nd worse. There are a lot of bad teams in college football.
GT and UVA lost to ND by one score. Vandy was in much of the Ole Miss game.
RU did not see the end zone at TTFP....an end zone that 3 non p5 teams all saw 3 times.
It is early but other than maybe Purdue and Wake Forest there is not much of a case for others being worse.
Uva just got utterly shellacked by an unraked Boise team, on their home field. Uva is garbage. They almost lost to a FBS team. Rutgers would beat them easily.

ESPN simply doesn't like our program! Let's go out and make the right hire so we can force their trashy network to pay The B1G Network the premium for The NY, Philly TV markets.... The Next major TV contract is coming up! Rutgers need to do its part and bring in someone that'll make this program become "must see TV".

SEC fans and ACC fans about our current situation, to the point of embarrassment.... I emailed him the list of 5 year
college team arrests we have seen on this board, which shows how many of the SEC teams and ACC teams were worse than RU at this point
but what it goes to show is that RU is front and center on the national stage.....the ripples extend to Atlanta..

We can't score a touchdown against a team that was blown out by Temple, but we're better than a team who should have beat ND.
And who knows, maybe we're better than Alabama, we just haven't played them, so we'll never know.

Agreed. The only 2 concerns right now are fullback and linebacker, but we have great linebackers coming in. But inexperience might be a problem.
The thing is that we can't have the kinds of behind-the-scenes melt-downs we had this year. It has to go like last year.
And the game was on a competitor network and did not involve an SEC or ACC team. No surprise there.

P5 teams with a record as bad as ours:
Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Arizona State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, Wake Forest, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Texas, Maryland, Nebraska, Purdue.
So by my count that's 19 teams with a record as bad as us. Is that enough to prove you wrong? I'm just going by your own criteria from your post above.

We HAVE fallen and we will have to take the verbal beat downs until we prove otherwise. So don't get bent out of shape every time someone attacks us.
In history (I think some of those Apple Cup games between Washington and Washington State have been real stinkers, among others)? No. This year - quite possibly. The average Sagarin rating of the two is something like 105 right now. Looking at the low ranked P5 teams, I doubt that another game gets close to that.
