Clemson vs. OU

Alabama vs. MSU

I think Alabama got a favorable matchup against MSU instead of a Clemson/OU. It's exactly the type of offense they're built to stop. Gonna be a tough matchup for MSU. But you know no one plays the chip on the shoulder/underdog card better than Dantonio.

I think Clemson has the slight edge against OU. I like their defense a little better.

Same could be said for MSU. Alabama's O is just the kind MSU's D is built to stop. Game should be a more interesting rendition of Bama/LSU a couple of years ago.

And last year's result notwithstanding, Okla will toast Clemson. ACC schedule is easiest of the P5, they needed a phantom call to beat NC, got lucky to edge a mediocre ND squad, and who was the 'other' top ten team they beat?

Alabama's O can look anemic at times but they tend to wear you down and then take control. Not much of a qb though, mostly a game manager. He was just throwing up balls yesterday and luckily his WRs made some nice plays and came down with them. It's their defense that's the monster which I'm unsure if MSU will be able to do anything on them. Basically I think Alabama's defense is going to end up doing better against MSU's offense than MSU's defense will against Alabama's offense.

One thing though, like I said Dantonio is the best at playing that underdog card and will squeeze out every last drop of heart and effort from his guys.

OU's got a little chip on the shoulder after last year's loss to Clemson and getting bumped to 4, but I still think Clemson has a slight edge. ACC is weaker but I don't know they don't have the feel of FSU from last year IMO. They seem capable to me, whether they do it or not is another question.

Alabama is going to win this easily.

They are the only team to repeat in the Final Four of CFB Playoffs. They have everything: Best players, best coaches and best facilities. They are a professional team masquerading as a college team. MSU, Clemson and Oklahoma are good college team but are no match for Alabama.

To have a puncher's chance against Alabama, you have to throw the ball, spread them out, and use tempo. You can't play smash mouth against them for 60 minutes and win. Their front 7 is big, nasty, and pretty much unblockable. I don't think any of these teams has a good enough OL to go toe to toe with them, but you never know.

Everyone said the same thing last year at this time and then Ohio State slapped the taste out of their mouths.

I like Michigan State as the underdog. Defensive line is big, strong and deep. They wouldn't get pushed around and they'll contain Henry. Alabama's wideouts are not the same as years past and Spartans secondary played better last night and against the Buckeyes. Cook will need to have a big passing day and find spots in Alabama's zone. It will be tough to run against Alabama. Burbridge, Kings. Shelton, and TEs - Price, Lang and Lyles will need to find their spots to exploit.

I already had tickets to fiesta bowl. Nice matchup.

...and Temple gets the 2006 Rutgers treatment (but worse), going from a potential NY6 game to the 12/22 Boca Raton Bowl vs. Toledo (decent team, good location, but Tuesday before Christmas???). Surprised the AAC didn't try to get them into St Pete's.

Still a bunch of TBA. Really surprised Nebraska with 5 wins is headed to San Francisco for the Foster Farms Bowl against UCLA.

Didn't we think we should have gone to that bowl last year, but got beat out by MD?

Alabama clear favor to win national championship based on talent and Saban as head coach.

Yesah. Now they've selected a 5 win team. Interesting how Indiana was placed in the Pinstripe Bowl and they actually qualified for a bowl as opposed to having to petition with 5 wins
