Concrete for the new basketball practice facility should be poured within the next two weeks

Great news!!! Thanks for posting that Tango. What a terrific job by the team and crowd tonight. Seems like just the other day we were getting blown out by sixty by Louisville. Coach Pike and staff have really turned the corner.

Do any of you know if cold weather delays erecting steel or is it just a case of being more cautious due to winds and snow during Winter months

And right next door at the RAC we're laying bricks.
I was going to say make sure we bury our offensive playbook/shooting practice charts in there lol.

maybe its the new backboards and rims we got this year....

ps, excellent news.

It should not. The key is getting the foundations and concrete in place before the ground freezes. Going vertical won't/shouldn't be delayed by cold. Snow and or high winds will have impact and can cause a delay, but neither would stop construction. I had a project going vertical in DC when Sandy hit. We had to take the cranes down, stop construction, etc. We weren't hit hard here in DC and were back on the project a couple days later.

After foundations/concrete the next big milestone will be the building top out. I'd assume that is 6-8 months from the concrete pour.
