By defeating Rider tonight, Monmouth clinched the #1 seed for the MAAC Tourney - winning the regular season title - and thus clinches an NIT Bid.

When did Monmouth join the MAAC? That seems to be a big step up for them in conference competition. Weren't they in the NEC for quite awhile. The fact that I didn't know this really does illustrate just how far my interest in men's bball has declined over the past several years. Sad, considering that RU men's bball was long my most passionate sports interest, starting with my freshman year on the Banks and the exciting Lloyd-Valvano NIT team.
