Congratulations Paul

What a good guy. Hopefully more athletes are doing something similar with some of their money.
Having a front row seat to watch Myles trailblaze in the foundation space as a RU basketball player making an impact outside the court gave him a nice path to follow in.

Pike and Knight cultivating a nice off the court culture as many on the team are participating in noteworthy causes and some setting up their own operations too.

You are giving credit to Myles, Pike and Knight for what Mulcahy is doing?? Did Myles even have NIL money when he was here and donate to charities? I say good job Paul Mulcahy.

Do you know Paul Mulcahy personally? If not, which you don’t, then how the hell do you know what he’s been doing with his life as it relates to his philanthropic endeavors? You make clown statement after clown statement it’s beyond belief. Based on what has been put out there about Paul, his family, upbringing, and religious background, I bet he’s been putting others first and giving back his entire life. Don’t think Myles, who is a class act, amazing person, and young bright kind in his own right, had to create any path for Paul to follow. You’re just too dense to give Paul props and keep it at that. You forgot to add the cheerleaders, water boy, guy who mops the sweat off the court, student managers, etc., as all those who helped mold Paul into who he is and what he stands for. Wish I could pay you to keep your thoughts inside your thick skull.

We still falling for religious propaganda in 2023?

Only you can turn a positive post into a negative one lol. I replied to a post that said (paraphrasing) “hopefully more players are doing good things off the court”

One of the mods merged threads there was another one with more posts that was a different topic the poor moderation might’ve made the intent more confusing. Maybe didn’t idk

Kinda like how you assumed cam was great because of interviews or whatever it was you said about him. Guess you have different rules for yourself. TLDR past 6 words.

I replied specifically to someone who said something to the effect of hopefully other guys in doing positive things with NIL” so talking about other guys off court also seemed somewhat relevant in that one specific quotes reply post and not a general post in the thread (which I also made, posting the tweet).

Also fwiw, which I guess is nothing, I already spoke positively of Paul’s off court efforts (and indivually) while others bad mouthed them. Much more obvious a situation to post a complaint about Paul not being complimented but it’s hard to keep up with every thread so I get it

Kid is awesome

Also, "just the beginning"

Aka, I'm coming back.
Now wouldn’t that be something if that’s the reason for the delay. That he’s working out final details on some philanthropic NIL deal and wants to announce it all at once.

Does someone have a run down of Paul’s non-profit/philanthropic NIL funded activity?

Also giving the credit to Myles, Pike, and Knight is nice but does seem like a backhanded compliment to Paul.. Not surprising when we consider the source though...
So I’ve looked deeper into this after all these replies.

I have to eat crow and give props to RU Alum Jordan Belzer; in the past I’ve been harsh on him but he is a true Rutgers man. Very happy Paul won this award for RU exposure. As it turns out, Belzerlikely threw RU and Paul a bone and good press for the program as he is the co-founder of the NIL Summit (now that a backhanded compliment; but seems to be what’s happened here).

Paul’s non-profit was founded prior to his NIL deals and his philanthropic activity (that I could find) was giving food gift cards to 260 Rutgers students and facility Ops employees. Obv the non-profit did more with NIL. There are a few others ITT who said Paul is deserving/mentioned they were aware of his efforts so if I’m missing anything else I apologize and when that’s posted re-evaluate (I admit I may have missed something, already missed the RU connection so totally possible).

How would people analyze those efforts (which are good natured in their own right don’t get me wrong) to a list of NIL-specific non-profit and philanthropic work https://www.dreamfield.co/resources/10-ways-college-athletes-are-using-nil-for-good by other NIL athletes around the county?

Paul established the Grateful4 foundation when he was a freshman in 2020. Here’s the article from scarletknights.com.

Paul Mulcahy Aims to Inspire Others With Grateful4 Challenge

On the court, Paul Mulcahy excelled in his debut season with the Scarlet Knights. Off the court, he was just as energetic about supporting his community. Fresh off that successful freshmen season, Mulcahy established an offseason social media campaign predicated on spreading gratitude and uplifting people’s spirits and mindsets as the world experiences the COVID-19 pandemic.
I’m extremely excited to announce the launch of the Grateful4 Foundation. Our mission is to spread the idea of gratitude and inspire a chain reaction of selfless acts. Gratitude is an underappreciated and undervalued emotion that we believe is super special because it affects and relates to all people. No matter someone’s age, race or socioeconomic status, we believe that everyone can feel a sense of gratitude. No matter what is going on in someone’s life, we believe there is always at least four things to be grateful for. Our goal right now is to spread this message of gratitude with as many people as possible.
Paul Mulcahy
Mulachy is using social media as a way of connecting with others across the globe. To accomplish his goals, he helped create the ‘Grateful4 Challenge’.
We’re asking for people to share a short video of themselves sharing the four things they’re grateful for right now and nominate four other people to do the same. In times like this, people tend to focus on the negatives and all the things they can’t do or don’t have in life. What we are trying to do is help people take a step back, do some self-reflection and realize that there is so much in their lives to be grateful for. And there is people all in their area and all over the world that are in less fortunate situations. If you believe in this message and can relate to it, we’d love for you to join in on the Grateful4 Challenge!
Paul Mulcahy
The challenge launched on Thursday evening, May 28th. Mulcahy got the ball rolling with his video, where he shared that he was grateful for his health, friends and family, the ability to play basketball, and having a safe place to sleep every nice.

Mulachy’s Scarlet Knights teammates were eager to support the initiative. Akwasi Yeboah (health, family and friends, having a roof over his head, having food on the table), Luke Nathan (health, supportive family, teammates and the opportunity to go to Rutgers) and Nick Brooks (health, friends and family, support system, passion to make a difference in society) were among the first to join in on the Grateful4 Challenge. Rutgers staff members also joined in on the initiative.

We have a lot of great kids from great families on our team, and this is just another example of that. I'm proud that Paul has taken on this initiative. Hopefully people will continue to jump on this and do a video and talking about the things they are grateful for. We all have a tremendous amount to be grateful for. Sometimes, in these tough times, you forget about those things. But we all have a lot to be grateful for. I'm excited that our guys have vision like that and those kind of goals. I'm proud of him for starting that up and hopefully it can generate a lot of good in New Jersey and in the world.
Head Coach Steve Pikiell
With the start of this challenge, Mulcahy hoped to inspire a chain reaction of selfless acts. The Bayonne, N.J. native and Gill St. Bernard’s product aims to have others join in by sending their own videos out on social media and helping to spread the message and is looking forward to hearing what everyone is grateful for.
I'm super fortunate to be surrounded by some great people. The support of this has been tremendous. This has taken on a life on its own once we've put this out. I'm really excited about how its spread this notion of gratitude."

Unbelievable... "Belzer likely threw RU and Paul a bone and good press as he is the co-founder of NIL Summit"..

So now you've decided that there was probably a conspiracy and Belzer influenced the 8 members of the selection committee, who have nothing to do with RU, to vote for Paul? Holy cow... Why do you have such an anti-Paul agenda?

I haven’t decided but as I said it seems likely from comparing the efforts of other NIL athletes.

Social media campaigns on gratitude and meals to 260 students/facility operations employees vs the efforts in the article I posted showing 10 figure contributions and investment to other more developed foundations, hospitals, marginalized communities, etc. It was the only conclusion I could see given what’s out of there.

I wouldn’t call it an agenda, I just dug deeper and this is what I found.

Yes, because you have an anti-Paul agenda and for some reason you seem to try to discount or discredit anything he's accomplished or that he receives praise for.

Seriously, of all the NIL athletes in the article that you linked to that you say have more impressive NIL charitable actions than Paul, only Blake Corum was among the six candidates in the NIL Summit awards for the award that Paul received. And your article states the following about Corum's NIL action...I'm not so sure it's as superior to what Paul has done as you want us to believe it is:

"Blake Corum recently partnered with a local Ann Arbor chocolate shop to raise money by appearing in person and meeting with customers while also serving the shop’s wares. Corum then donated 15% of the proceeds from the day to the Uniform Funding Foundation, which works to make sure underprivilegd children have uniforms to play sports."

Agree it was a very limited pool of nominees.

Should have dug a little deeper. The article you referenced was from March of 2022.
