Not too long ago a top 150 would had everyone (well, almost everyone) doing cartwheels. Now some are worried about who is 1, 2 or 3 in the nation. We’ve come a long way baby.

You're absolutely right but you can't deny the attention we'd get from getting #1 and #2. Is #2 and #3 really all that different? Of course not but Rutgers getting #1 and #2, I mean the media attention and national perception would be something.

I don't think he was at elite 24....he was at the curry camp though, ace won MVP there as well.
Forgive my ignorance as I haven't seen either of these kids play. I don't know if I'm talking to guys on the aau circuit and have seen these guys play a couple of times. I'm just going off the clips available on YouTube...

Cooper played EYBL and led his team to the Peach Jam finals - albeit he was playing 16's - but his team was players from Maine.
Ace's AAU team played at a lower level and from everything I saw, wasn't very good
Flagg is regarded as a "generational talent" the type that changes an NBA franchise
Ace is a lottery pick, possibly even the #2 pick but not regarded as being that level
I see now, you guys are going off of the press...ace was injured last year so he lost some time...flagg was playing a lower level of aau and dominating, also transferred to montverde this spring/summer so he's really in the spotlight now. Ace's aau team seems to play their own schedule and jamichael Davis seemed to be the only other high level d1 player. But Ace's highschool team made it to elite 8 of Georgia 7a state championship and lost to eventual champion wheeler. I'm not sure how flagg performed in Maine but I'm sure it was good as well. Looks like both of these kids have been in aau environments that make them stand out.
I like to look at YouTube clips of all these players and see if I can see what the analysts see.. with Flagg I don't see him being that much better than everyone. He may be the best in this class but ace is not far imo. Even looks like he could be better.. check out flagg playing on a different aau team than usual at a higher level, here he's going up against tahaad pettiford from Jersey city. Pettiford looks like the best player in the game... although flagg does look like the best prospect in the game because of his size and shooting ability..
Here is Ace's highschools game against the top 2023 prospect in ga and to pg in the nation Collier. Ace looks like the best player and prospect in this game. This is who eventually best ace's team in the state playoffs, also jamichael Davis holding his own against Collier..I believe Davis is underrated as well. Doesn't look like a 3 star to me..
I understand why flagg is considered better at this point because of the confidence in his shot to keep shooting and getting shots up. But ace with more confidence, which is what I believe he's developing this summer will in the running for that top spot as well..

Cooper Flagg and his brother transferred to Montverde Academy last year. The 2023-24 season will be their second season at MVA.
Cooper definitely got better over the course of the year. Had an incredible June and July. He was MVP of the NBPA Top 100 Camp and was the best player on the floor in each game I watched except when he matched up against Cameron Boozer.
I respect it...he's definitely worthy, just saying doesn't look like he's a level above Ace imo. We will see soon enough..
