Crean talking to Pitt

The state of Georgia right now is at the top of the charts in terms of HS Athletics.

Their best can go head to head with anyone .

Athens is a very cool place and you can attract kids from virtually anywhere to go there.

If Crean can keep the class they currently have committed together he could win very quickly there.

I don't dispute anything you say but that has been the case for awhile and yet they have not been able to establish any consistency in the program. If Fox had that strong of a class coming in then perhaps the AD gave up on him prematurely. I like Crean but do wonder if he is cut out for the SEC.

I thought Earl Grant @ College of Charleston to Georgia was a possibility if they beat Auburn. Now some rumors floating that Larranaga retires from Miami, Frank Martin heads to Miami and Grant heads to South Carolina.

Also, I expect Wichita State to be a possible landing spot for Earl Grant (former Shocker assistant under Marshall), as I think Marshall ends up at Louisville.

No reason why Georgia can’t be successful in football and basketball, their rival Florida is able to do it. They have to show the willingness to allocate the necessary resources, maybe that time is now. There is an abundance of basketball talent in Atlanta.

you can say that about any SEC school, there is a reason why....sure schools like Bama and USC and even Auburn this year can have some good years but if you think they are sleeping powerhouses I disagree

I think Georgia can if they are willing to allocate the resources, because their rival finds basketball important and the Atlanta metro might be the most basketball talent-rich area in the nation.

I think they will hire Chris Mack if it opens
Not sure about Mack. He is in a top league, has a 1 seed and has shown that regardless of his seed he can advance deep into the tournament. A Final Four this season and he is a legand in Cincy (if he already isn't).

I also am not sure if his style will be something Louisville is interested in. Check out Tu Holloway and "Zip em Up" and their constant run ins with other teams.

I thought there is a good chance that Louisville will be punished by the NCAA. If so I doubt any big name coach might jump at Louisville. I also don't think Mack will leave Xavier. I might be wrong but I think he played at Xavier. I think he is happy there. I would not be surprised to see the Buffalo coach get offered by Pitt or Connecticut.
