Man...we absolutely SUCK in this sport when we absolutely shouldn't. Results from this year's B1G Championships:

Men - 11th (out of 12...beat Iowa) ...
2014 - 12th
2015 - 12th

Women - 14th (out of 14)
2014 - 12th
2015 - tie 13th

Coach Mulqueen is a nice guy and all but...well...we have some decent kids here-and-there in track-and-field, no question, but 32 years with ONLY a single Big East team title - ONE - to show for it? And we're talking Men's CC, Men's Indoor, AND Men's Outdoor, for 32 years. That's 1-for-66!!! Yes, I understand the reasons, well aware, but the only guy at RU with a worse track record - ha - is Tim Smith and at least he's retiring.

Coach Robinson, on the women's side, not much better unfortunately. 11 years with no team titles in 33 team seasons.

Now...B1G $$$, and getting to the fully-funded, out-of-state level, for all teams involved, will help, but ya' think MAYBE it's time for a change on the Men's side??

Isn't Mulqueen retiring after the season?

Didn't know that, thanks for the info, I'm sure they'll give him a nice sendoff after 32 years of service. Like I said, good guy, knew him when I worked for RU, don't get me wrong.

Hopefully he's retiring. He should have retired 20 years ago. He doesn't even communicate with the top track/cross country coaches in the state. Some who he even coached at Rutgers. He needs to go.

Mulqueen needs to go. There are NO excuses for literally not having a competitive team in 30+ years. And the fact that he hasn't been held accountable by various ADs is equally shocking, at lease you change things every decade if your program is abysmal.

We need a new cross-country and track coach who is young, hungry, and will do whatever it takes to get more competitive even with limited funding/resources. New Jersey has too much cross-country and track and field talent not to be.

A hire similar to Goodale in wrestling would be my preference.

Can anyone confirm if Mulqueen is in fact retiring after this year? I'm no longer close to the program.
