Out of those who follow college sports we have myself and 2 others fromRU, and one each from Penn State, Pitt and WVU. Also a UVA guy who is not into sports. Also on the non sports side we have UMass, Iona, Washington & Lee, FDU, Ramapo and St. Francis (Pa).

1) Rutgers
2) USC (wife went there, and anyone who went there is a huge fan)
3) Maryland (some family went there, grew up in Maryland. Really just a fan of the hoops team)

2 Penn State alumni, both my immediate bosses (ughh)

2 Pitt alumni

Seton Hall alumni

Monmouth alumni

Boston U alumni

St. John's alumni

Just divested myself of my interest in my business after 20 years, and here is the approximate composition of the people my business partner (Mason Gross) and I (RC) hired over the years:

Rutgers (Mason Gross)- 80%
Muhlenberg - 4%
UConn - 2%
Other, including Brazil, France - 14%

Rutgers- undergrad
Purdue- grad school
USC- sister went there, loved Pete C

A&M (besides me)
Rutgers (just me)
Oregon state

Norte Lame
Stanford
Cal
George Mason
Harvard

My immediate quad pod cube area:

Texas Tech
UNC
TTFP (sits right next to me)
RU (me)

At least I have the pleasure of reminding the UNC guy of our most recent win! :grimace:

my manager is a St John's bball fan, and another guy went to Maryland. Nobody else cares about college sports.

I think some people are missing the thread...it is about what other teams people in your office support.

In my case, there is only one other p5 alum in my office (UCLA) at least who broadcasts it.

USF

"European Football" has a bigger following. There are 67 people who know nothing about and could care less about football

Since I worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for ten years until I retired in 2014, it was pretty irrelevant where my colleagues went to school. Everyone was a Badger fan. I did have fun announcing at a weekly meeting that I was now a graduate of a Big 10 school.

I work for Rutgers. So everyone I work with is pro-Rutgers. None more than me though

Work at a Big 4 in Philly with hundreds in my practice and probably over 1K in the office...unfortunately I say Penn state has the most alums with the breakout being approx:

20% Penn State
5-10% Temple
5-10% Villanova
5-10% St. Joes
5-10% Drexel
5-10% Lasalle
5-10% Lehigh
5-10% Delaware
< 5% Rutgers
< 5% West Chester
Other (Maryland, Notre Dame, TCNJ, random other colleges).

I will only list P5 people
2 RU
1 BC
1 OSU
The rest are smaller or specialty schools...
I'm Lafayette and wife is McGill

The breakdown where I work (Los Angeles AFB) is pretty much this:

Various University of California/California State University schools - 50%
Air Force Academy - 30%
USC - 7%
UCLA - 7%
Huge cross section of American Universities - 6%
Rutgers - me

Rutgers (me)
Kansas State (co-worker)
Seton Hall (supervisor)

And a whole lot of people who don't care for sports.

In a department of about 110 mostly chem engineers (maybe 40% with PhDs), the most represented schools are the ones we recruit heavily from, i.e., Rutgers, PSU, Princeton, Delaware, UVA, Michigan, MIT, Cornell, Purdue, and Penn. As you can see, none of our old BE rivals are represented (except one UConn guy, who somehow slipped in) and of the rest about half don't have 1A football, so it's mostly PSU, Michigan, UVA, and Purdue to compete with. And several of the 1AA guys like RU as the local (most aren't from NJ) team and some of them are ticketmates with me.

Most of the smack talk is with PSU/Michigan folks. Luckily my boss is an RU guy and has been going to games with me for 10 years or so. I have a couple of RU guys and a couple of PSU guys in my group - most of the rest are 1AA folks.

Me: Rutgers
Supervisor (Oregon) does not follow sports
Fellow administrators: Penn, Columbia, SUNY
Colleagues: 1 Penn State die hard fan, 1 Wisconsin die hard fan, 1 Minnesota, the rest smaller colleges

4 - Maryland
2 - UConn
2 - Michigan
1 - Rutgers
1 - Colorodo
1 - Cal
1 - Syracuse

All are pretty respectful of others' allegiance. There's one exception - Syracuse.

Princeton

2 St John's
Univ Indiana
Richmond
West Point
Boston Univ
UMASS
SUNY Binghamton

As far as I know (right now):

RU (me)
Penn State - 2
Delaware - 1
Tufts - 1
Princeton - 1
Loyola (MD) - 1
Cornell - 2
Lebanon Valley - 1
Johns Hopkins - 2
Towson - 2
Virginia Tech - 2
Frostburg State - 1

UMBC - 1
North Carolina - 1

Since I work from home most days its just RU and Wesley (DE) in my house. When I do swing by the office, the only 2 people who really follow college sports are both PSU grads. Which may explain why I have only been in the office 3 times in the last 2 months and wont be back again until Sept.

How did you become an RU fan? Your coworkers?
Because it's the closest team to my house and is convenient. To be honest, if I lived anywhere else I'd be rooting for the team that was easiest to see live.
