I went. I will just drop a line or two. I thought the event was pretty entertaining. A good amount of defense was played with at least two people on each team being interested in playing it. Larson Ford had some big kids. I went down to see Lewis but he must have had class.

One team(lewises sterns trailer) was running on one sub the whole night. One thing I noticed after looking at the roster was that a lot of the kids playing have already graduated from their programs. Some were 2-5 years out. All good, but it would be nice to keep things current.

Lewis and Dadika are both playing down there. How busy they are up in New Brunswick determines if they will play games.

2 kids playing D ? That's a lot more than I remember. Used to live in Belmar and go fairly regularly. There were a lot of big time existing college, college graduates from the Shore and local pros playing then. There was no D at all, but lots of run and gun. Looked like good exercise to me.

Shore, was pretty impressed with the amount of defense. Definitely a good amount of guys playing it.

D.J.Foreman, Rutgers: The sophomore forward was one of two Rutgers players to participate, including sophomore guard Mike Williams. “He looked pretty good,” Caver said. “He’s trying to stretch his game, work on perimeter stuff. I kind of like him with his back to the basket right now.”

Good to hear. I wonder where foreman ends up this year. 3 or 4.

Its got to be both, for different reasons. He is physically a PF, albeit one growing into the role , but there just won't be big minutes available there this year with Freeman aboard and Lewis and Diallo available to slide over if necessary. Don't think he is a natural 3, but we have a big need for minutes at this spot , so we should see him there too.

Im guessing 10 and 10

You're right.Lots of interchangeable parts. What do you suspect Freemans numbers will be in the big ten?He came off like a 16 and 8 season in hutchinson. On the frontcourt I'd just like to see a lot of arms straight up. High iq moves. Increases your play, decreases fouls so much. And it seems to be a concept you can integrate rather quickly. Laurent and Foreman will have a lot of nice competition together.

Of course its sight unseen (outside of highlight videos), but on paper I think that RU has no choice but to make Freeman the #1 option on offense. As such he will be expected to score 15 a game, minimum. With the minutes he should get , 7-8 boards too.

For some reason I don't see that happening. Do we have any evidence of a juco scoring his juco league numbers in a power 5, big ten conference? Whether he does or not, I won't lose sleep over. I am just asking, is that done often?Same production matched in a easier league than in a hard league.

I agree with Higgins. I will be happy with like 12 and 8. I am guessing the Big 10 will be so much tougher than the JUCO ranks.

I would expect this to be more of the exception to the rule, but Marshall Henderson averaged 19.6 a game in JUCO and then averaged 20.1 in his first year at Ole Miss. He was also JUCO player of the year though for the number 1 team in the country

Thanks for the info. I just don't know if Freeman exactly matches his production. I sure hope he does. I think this team has a couple players teams will have to look at.

I see 12 and 6 or so. He will only be a junior and will have a chance to get a 14 and 8 player by his senior year.

Freeman shot well from the line last year so that will help him, and the team late in games. Hopefully he has stayed consistent with his ft shooting.

i would be very happy with 12 and 6.

Just for reference, 247 sports has Freeman as the 18th ranked JUCO in 2015. Below is the first year production of similarly ranked JUCOs in 2014:

16: Coreontae DeBerry, Cincinnati C - 4.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg
17: Josh Gray, SU PG - 7.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.8 apg
18: Jabril Durham, Arkansas PG - 1.8 ppg, 1.4 apg
19: Kevin Punter, Tennessee SG - 10.3 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.9 apg
20: Sam Cassell Jr, UCONN SG - 3.9 ppg, 1.3 rpg

Despite these numbers, I expect more from Freeman, as he is in a position of immediate need and will get a lot of touches early.

It looks like you put some time into this. Thank you for posting

If Freeman doesn't get many touches than our offense will probably be mostly going through a 3 guard offense. I don't think that would be the best thing. We probably will need 5 guys involved at all times to have some success. We even need Lewis to score a little more.

That was sobering...
haha wasn't meant to be a downer and was kind of surprised by what I found.

Here's some hope from a similar player and team: Auburn first year JUCO Cinmeon Bowers who's 6'7 and on a similar team as where we are averaged 12.1 ppg and 9.6 rpg last year. This is similar to my expectations for Freeman

I do think Freeman is different though. Well heck, I guess I hope. Just being honest.

Both you and I thought Freeman could struggle to match is production here, but now I am thinking of our parts. I think Freeman will succeed. He has that fire and will. If he struggles, you have a d1 foreman who you can put at the 3, lewis at the 4, and diallo at the five.

Foreman is a good player. He has big ten experience. Well see what happens.
