Did the Fridge ever consult this year and if he did, when did he stop?

He was at the Nebraska game, so he was consulting at least until them. What makes you think he stopped consulting?

I know he had input , or maybe it was output, on the official RU tailgate menu each week. Saint Ralph bears no responsibility for the product on the field nor apparently do 10 of the offensive players out there at any particular time. This was strictly a Flood-Laviano show.

Read it somewhere recently that he and the RU staff are in contact every week during the season.

From the Article in October: Friedgen watches film of every practice and remains in regular contact with the coaching staff.

"Coach Friedgen is doing great," Flood said Wednesday on his weekly radio show. "He's been a tremendous help to us. I had a great conversation with him (Tuesday) night. We talk via text all the time, but I had a great conversation with him (Tuesday) night. He's somebody who is having a very positive effect on our program and somebody that I really admire as a football coach."

Friedgen stayed on as a consultant, taking a pay cut from $500,000 to $50,000 in the process. He visited during spring practice and training camp, but he spends most of his time at his home at South Carolina. Technology allows him to watch film of every practice and to remain in regular contact with the coaching staff.

"He's somebody that is a great resource for me as a head coach because he did the job for over 10 years," Flood said. "A tremendous resource for the offensive staff because he's as good as it gets in all of college football when you talk about offensive coordinators. So, Coach Friedgen has absolutely helped us every week this year and it's been a positive for our program."

If you think he was involved in any major way then I think your nuts. Rutgers set that up so it seemed like we were not changing Offensive Coordinators for the 4th time in 4 years. It was an illusion to make it look seamless.

Wasn't there a rumor that he left because he wanted full control of the offense and Flood wouldn't agree?

With this level of involvement and the respect he has among our head coach, Is there any doubt Fridge has had a strong influence on the selection and naming of the QB starter?

And also....another older article stated: " The semi-retired former Rutgers football offensive coordinator will not be involved with in-game coaching but his fingerprints will be on some of the game plan." Not any real news there.... and doesn't really get into the extent of his involvemenbt, but I'm sure they are relying on his experience. I wouldn't be shocked if there are in-game phone calls to help with game plan adjustments.

Slyker did you really say "I wouldn't be shocked if there are in-game phone calls to help with game plan adjustments?

I knew you were delusional with many of your posts and your football acumen was lacking but that is just absurd.

Yes I did mean that, but sorry, i did not originally fully state my thought. Meant to say in game half time phone calls. Obviously no coach is taking any calls on the sideline during a game. And I Do not think a half time call is absurd at all. Not much different than speaking to an assistant through a headset who is up in a box above the field

Adjustments?! Have we made any?

And I doubt Fridge sees more potential in one QB over the other, after all, according to Flood, competition was "SO CLOSE."

Have you ever sat in a locker room at halftime? Or played a sport at any level? If you have you would know just how absurd that statement is.

So Flood or McDaniels are CALLING Fridge at the half?

This board should be shut down and this post wiped, before it gets out across the national landscape.

One of the major things we have learned this year is that flood is a liar who cannot be believed. i don't believe this for a second.

McDaniels and Fludd gathered in a corner at the Half against OSU...

Did you call Fridge?

It's ringing, but he's not picking up.

Did you call the house?

Yeah, voicemail there too.

Text?

Yeah, 3 of them...delivered but no answer

Shit...what are we gonna do if he doesn't pick up? There's only 4 minutes of halftime left.

I dunno...We can keep running 3 yard drag routes I guess?

Yeah, I suppose. But where do you think he is? You did tell him we were gonna call right? At the Half?

Yeah, of course I did. Beats me.

Maybe he's taking a shit? Try him again one more time

Ok, coach.

I think 'skyler' realizes that no amount of stats can justify Laviano's poor season to date (and absolutely dismal performance without Carroo's recieving presence). And so now the mental gymnastics have transitioned to blaming everyone on the staff but Flood for the starting quarterback decision-making, including a part-time coaching consultant who is clearly telling the offense exactly what to do from South Carolina during halftime of every game.

That's how I would picture it. Is this accurate Slyker?

Fridge's house during the half of OSU

*ring, ring...ring, ring

Ralph, phone is for you. It's Ben and Kyle...they have it on speaker?

who?

Ben...and Kyle...from Rutgers...they said they need the adjustments for the second half.

Tell em I'm changing the oil on the lawn mower...I'll call em back Tuesday

The explanation is very simple. Fridge likes Flood as a person, but doesn't respect him as a head coach.

I don't know Flood personally, but I could see myself falling into the same category. He seems to care about the kids, but his coaching leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Even after your edits and re-edits it still does not make sense. As others have said your mental gymnastics are hilarious

No touchdown passes in 5 straight games would be one clue.

I saw something posted here that Ralph didn't want mcdaniels to succeed him . Any truth to that ?

I always found it bizarre that Rossi was roasted daily on this board last year when the defense faltered, yet the blame was on Flood whenever the offense had issues.
