He was at the Nebraska game, so he was consulting at least until them. What makes you think he stopped consulting?
maybe I should rephrase it. Was anybody listening to him?He was at the Nebraska game, so he was consulting at least until them. What makes you think he stopped consulting?
Any thoughts?
Read it somewhere recently that he and the RU staff are in contact every week during the season.
BINGO!!Wasn't there a rumor that he left because he wanted full control of the offense and Flood wouldn't agree?
From the Article in October: Friedgen watches film of every practice and remains in regular contact with the coaching staff.
"Coach Friedgen is doing great," Flood said Wednesday on his weekly radio show. "He's been a tremendous help to us. I had a great conversation with him (Tuesday) night. We talk via text all the time, but I had a great conversation with him (Tuesday) night. He's somebody who is having a very positive effect on our program and somebody that I really admire as a football coach."
Friedgen stayed on as a consultant, taking a pay cut from $500,000 to $50,000 in the process. He visited during spring practice and training camp, but he spends most of his time at his home at South Carolina. Technology allows him to watch film of every practice and to remain in regular contact with the coaching staff.
"He's somebody that is a great resource for me as a head coach because he did the job for over 10 years," Flood said. "A tremendous resource for the offensive staff because he's as good as it gets in all of college football when you talk about offensive coordinators. So, Coach Friedgen has absolutely helped us every week this year and it's been a positive for our program."
Slyker did you really say "I wouldn't be shocked if there are in-game phone calls to help with game plan adjustments? With this level of involvement and the respect he has among our head coach, Is there any doubt Fridge has had a strong influence on the selection and naming of the QB starter?
And also....another older article stated: " The semi-retired former Rutgers football offensive coordinator will not be involved with in-game coaching but his fingerprints will be on some of the game plan." Not any real news there.... and doesn't really get into the extent of his involvemenbt, but I'm sure they are relying on his experience. I wouldn't be shocked if there are in-game phone calls to help with game plan adjustments.

I knew you were delusional with many of your posts and your football acumen was lacking but that is just absurd.
Have you ever sat in a locker room at halftime? Or played a sport at any level? If you have you would know just how absurd that statement is.Yes I did mean that, but sorry, i did not originally fully state my thought. Meant to say in game half time phone calls. And I Do not think that is absurd at all

So Flood or McDaniels are CALLING Fridge at the half?
This board should be shut down and this post wiped, before it gets out across the national landscape.
That's how I would picture it. Is this accurate Slyker?McDaniels and Fludd gathered in a corner at the Half against OSU...
Did you call Fridge?
It's ringing, but he's not picking up.
Did you call the house?
Yeah, voicemail there too.
Text?
Yeah, 3 of them...delivered but no answer
Shit...what are we gonna do if he doesn't pick up? There's only 4 minutes of halftime left.
I dunno...We can keep running 3 yard drag routes I guess?
Yeah, I suppose. But where do you think he is? You did tell him we were gonna call right? At the Half?
Yeah, of course I did. Beats me.
Maybe he's taking a shit? Try him again one more time
Ok, coach.

Ok, coach.
The explanation is very simple. Fridge likes Flood as a person, but doesn't respect him as a head coach.
Even after your edits and re-edits it still does not make sense. As others have said your mental gymnastics are hilariousYes I did mean that, but sorry, i did not originally fully state my thought. Meant to say in game half time phone calls. Obviously no coach is taking any calls on the sideline during a game. And I Do not think a half time call is absurd at all. Not much different than speaking to an assistant through a headset who is up in a box above the field
No touchdown passes in 5 straight games would be one clue.
I saw something posted here that Ralph didn't want mcdaniels to succeed him . Any truth to that ?
If you think he was involved in any major way then I think your nuts. Rutgers set that up so it seemed like we were not changing Offensive Coordinators for the 4th time in 4 years. It was an illusion to make it look seamless.
Wasn't there a rumor that he left because he wanted full control of the offense and Flood wouldn't agree?
BINGO!!
Fridge used to call Flood on his cell phone
During the game when he needed his love
