I thought Pikiell's comments in the Zags article suggested he is not expecting to add anyone. In touting the versatility of the three additions he emphasized how important such flexibility was when dealing with a short roster.
There are plenty out there. At this point in time though you need to know what the word "help" is. I think there are a bunch of 5th year players, who can give us a few minutes per game, and more in short stretches if there are injuries. Basically the 4th or 5th person off the bench on a full roster. But seriously, that will help us a ton.

Why is anyone getting their hopes up that someone can be added in July that will make an sort of impact?
Anyone still available at this stage will probably make Omari Grier look like Michael Jordan. And that's not a knock on Omari - I think he contributed where could.

You would think it would be a serviceable guard. Every other position we are young, have players. At guard, if Corey leaves this year or next year, we will be short.Mike Williams has shown very little capability to be a primary ball handler.
If they go for a center or so, we have bigger problems. That would show no confidence in Doorson or Diallo.
My guess is a serviceable point guard or power forward.
We are not looking for an impact player at this point.
We are looking for someone to come in, fit the culture, and play 10 minutes of play without turning the ball over, and keep defenses somewhat honest.
Being competitive this year goes a long, long way to what we can get in 2017
Actually I agree with this. At this point in time I only want 5th year guys that will not hurt our scholarship count for 2017.
thanks everyone, I am in line with consensus, someone who can give us minutes that is fundamentally sound, and not burn a ship. I think we need to show progress this year and play inspiring, entertaining bball. Last year it was so dead at the RAC. Love to steal a few B1G games, play competitive, and most importantly play tough. Teams have to believe when they come to the RAC, it is going to be a grind. Our opponents last year were so casual with us. Has to change.

Seems that one of these days we may see a program whose starting lineup consists of all graduate transfers, sort of a variation on Calipari's roster-building.
