Down 8 With 1:24 Left And People Leaving!

The students rocked, but the regular crowd was HORRIBLE! TERRIBLE!! We played #1 team in B1G and #3 team in the country within single digits the ENTIRE game and the whole lower level did not stand on Defense ONCE!! I don’t understand. “Beat someone first” well we could win these games if the arena was crazy from start to finish.
I've said for years for football and basketball. You don't have to stand to yell as loud as you can. Noise in not amplified any more if you're standing.

I was sitting in the 100 section not far from Hobbs . Many in our area are long time Rutgers fans who , like myself, have been coming to Rutgers games for many years despite all the suffering teams. Yes I saw several people leave with 5 minutes to play including a Rutgers professor who has been coming to games for years and usually leaves early..

Thanks for the memories. I was at that game. Sick as a dog that day & spent halftime throwing up in the men's room. (Sorry, but it's true).
If you look at the video you'll see the main student section and the student section by the RU bench was standing and cheering.
However if you look at the rest of the 100 level most everyone was sitting. Also if you look at some shots of the 101-106 side
you'll see practically everyone sitting. I was up in 203 Row K at the time and sat most of the game but everyone was screaming and
cheering while sitting. Other than the students, fans mostly only got up at timeouts. It's been that way forever.

With all the losing that has taken place, the fans are conditioned. All it will take is one comeback from that deficit. No one is going through the trouble of going to a game thinking it is in doubt and leaving.

no way was that crowd 60/40
True - that was the A-10 policy though. Point is, the visual from the video and TV included a decent amount of rabid Penn State fans since their allocation ran from the lower level at the right of the screen through the 2nd level. Part of the student section (110) might've been allocated to Penn State people too.

Its amazing from the video how much we exceeded the fire code capacity that night. I recall friends sneaking in w/o any tickets, and being in the last row of the student section literally standing shoulder to shoulder throughout.

Great memories of an amazing night. I was there and it was deafening. You can hardly hear the announcers, who did a great job.
