Drew Singleton

It's clear that Ash and everyone in his organization have great, no B.S. communication skills (better than Schiano, I will say) and that alone seems to keep great recruits engaged.

I guess it is just a matter of proving you can give the maximum investment in a player and person as any other major program can.

Singleton and Hansand along with Bolds and Hand will be in the video of the decade when it comes out stating we are RU bound.

Dreaming or real info?

I saw that singleton video and it didn't seem promising. He has Michigan/Clemson as only lock OV and he was fishing about Auburn. I'd say or chances are slim from that video.

"Better than Schiano". The jury is still out on that. Way to early to call.

Need to see some three star magic al la Sanu, Leonard, Rice etc. first. And some Anthony Davis types too.

Exactly. Guys he has two officials as of now. If he doesn't setup one for Rutgers you can say it's over. I know he's visited a ton but he's clearly leading at Michigan and Clemson. Also mentioned he loved Auburn. When NJ.com plays these videos they are click bait. Of course he's going to say he loves Rutgers but how many dozens of top recruits have said that over and over through Schiano and Flood. After his freshmen year I thought Rashan Gary was really going to pick RU, but the bigger and bigger they get on the recruting trail the harder it becomes to land these guys. He's the number 1 player in the state and while Ash is a miracle from God at this point, he's got to win to prove to kids in the 2018-2020 class to stay home. If we win there is no doubt in the future our chances of landed the states best will happen. I think it's a little premature to get the top although he's doing a tremendous job with the states top 20.

If he ended up her it would be one hell of a coup by Ash. I believe it will be Mich as well.

A big reason why Leonard came here was from how Shea treated his brother, honoring his scholarship after his injury senior year. Rice was going to Syracuse until they fired their coach. Not 100% GS recruits.

Band, no doubt Shea's treatment of Nate Leonard played a large role, but RU has had coaches who blew such opportunities in the past. And love you throwing Rice in. It was not like he didn't have other offers once the Cuse staff changes were made. GS jumped all over him immediately, great job doing so. Saying he wasn't a GS recruit is downright ignorant of the facts. Guys like Zuttah were big time gets. GS was a very strong recruiter at a school that wasn't very attractive post-Shea. He overcame negative recruiting regarding our conference situation.

Wouldn't you consider Micah Clark an Anthony Davis type?

I've also asked that question in ATS a while back and was given the answer of "Anthony Davis was on another level ... guaranteed three years and off to the NFL player." Micah Clark could become that, but AD was as close to a guarantee as you could get.

Boy alot of people are starting to fall in love with Clark though. Sneaking into top 100 lists, offers from Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama....

Oh absolutely. If Clark was the baseline player we got recruiting wise, we'd be a top 5 team. He'll be a great player for 3-5 years.

My comment on Anthony Davis in high school was that he would make a very good pro player one day. Only player I have given the same rating to since was Rashan Gary.

The short time that there was a Schiano-Haffley team recruiting was the strongest recruiting Rutgers ever had. Ash still has a lot of time, but he's not at that level yet.

Doesn't matter how they got to RU. There's drama etc. blah blah blah all over. Getting them on the team is what matters.

Regarding current commits. Can't say anything until they are on the field in college.

When they ran behind AD. People knew it was coming and couldn't stop it.

Our OL in 2006/2007 was the best in school history. Fladell/Stapleton/Sosa/Stephenson/Zuttah were better than any OL Davis was on. Those guys were all recruited with a very poor RU history. Thank you GS! To nitpick how he got Leonard/Rice shows an obvious bias.

Well, signing day is a long time away, and as I stated before, chances of Singleton landing at RU is a three point shot from your starting center but it is not zero. If things start to sour at Michigan and Clemson, it's good that he's high on Rutgers.
