it might be contigent, assuming Rutgers has interest, on someone leaving
The commits for 2018 are three forwards, a goalie, and two mids. After 23 girls in the last two years that class might be full
But Swaby, Visco, Wright, Frank, all played on different usnt at different ages also and there are 5 other defenders on the roster for 2-4 years remaining
But anything can happen so.. we will see
last year /tierney also played mid and striker so she saw the field.. Occasionally Wright or Smith moved up to mid and Norton came in. Moneme played more the year beforeTierney played a ton & Norton played a good deal as well. Herr was out all year with an injury. Monome also saw playing time, though not a great deal.
This may prove to be one of those times i may just wished i kept my mouth shut
But the thought of taking a girl because she played in Europe is not realistic. The US and a precious few teams play at a decidedly higher level then almost everyone else in the world
The Serbian u17 womans national team has not qualified to play in the World cup rounds in a minimum of ten years. We have no clue who they are playing against on that tape or even if its a club game
Our defense has Kenie Wright for 2 more years and she played national team twice./but Swaby, Visco, and Jezlen Jiminez are all americans who would play an entire game every time out . for 3 more years there is no place to put them. This year jamie Frank comes in from a team rhat was u15 national champs than the finals the next year
Starr, Katona, Moneme, Herr , Norton and if needed Tierney all played on , or near national championship teams , with high ratings, and they cannot get any time
Our 2018 class is probably complete with 2 strikers, 3 mids , and a goalie with no defenders taken...... no place to put them
If she was a 5th year striker you could make a case but she isnt
But i am curious why the poster thought she might like to come here
I am assisting her family in letting colleges know about her. I agree it to a lot of what you are saying that the USA has the top women soccer in the world, and NJ is a hotbed. But to me, you can make the same argument regarding men's basketball in that their may be International players that can help a team. She is a dual Canadian and Serbian citizen and her father works in Toronto.
I just don't have the eye to compare her to top 16 year olds in USA. The fact that Serbia might not be an elite team in world competition, doesn't mean that they can't have one or two excellent players.
I have only reached out to be about 15 schools, and so far half have contacted me back. I know a lot of companies do this for business, but I am a friend of a friend not getting paid.
In that case i apologize for my arrogance/ bluntness. You are a good person and didnt deserve my response
Those European guys can shoot.I have been assisting the baseball federation in helping develop baseball over there. This young lady also plays baseball with the boys and she is pretty good. I am also in contact with a basketball coach over in Belgrade who coaches high school at the top sports high school. So maybe I can get one of his top basketball players to Rutgers one day. They really produce good shooters over there.
