Elias Reynolds Commits to RU

WELCOME, Elias, to the Rutgers family!!

-LOVE getting these city kids; they're tough, hard-nosed, and know how to bring it on the field.

And as far as Jersey kids go, if they can't see what's right in front of them, then I say to players from NY, Fla., Maryland, Pennsy, the midwest, Cali., etc., come on up, down, over, or wherever you have to come from...but YOU ARE WANTED!

My first thought when I saw his size (6'2", 227lbs) is this dude is gonna be a beast in the middle. Not sure if he has the speed for outside, but wherever he plays he is gonna lay the lumber.

In Todd Hunt's interview with his coach, the coach (RU grad) says he has speed to play the outside and that they had almost used him as a safety. Now that he has matured and bulked up they're taking about moving him inside next fall.

6'2", 227lbs coming out of high school .... certainly has sufficient size to match up against anyone .... let's hope speed & instincts too!

He's still a year away from graduating HS. No reason to think he won't be 235-240 by the time he gets on campus.

No, we need the top NJ recruits; or at least few every year; to move to the next level the B1G.
The problem with "the top NJ recruits" thing is who are they? Looking back at the "top" as defined by Rivals Cushing sure would have been nice. Dwayne Jarrett. Knowshon Moreno too. We got Anthony Davis. Will Hill's had a good career. There are others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Buy what I'm saying is looking back through the years the Rivals NJ top ten sure has had a lot of misses. Im talking about guys that didnt just fail to dominate. Guys that did next to nothing for one reason or another. You just never know.

The other thing is how many walk-ons have played huge roles for us? I'd put O'Hara, Brackett, Meekins, and Burton up against basically any "top" recruit group, this year or previous.

Welcome to Rutgers.

Agree with those we should open recruiting more. We have never been in this position before.. a Big Ten team.. clear path to the playoffs and still-mythical national championship. Who knows what recruits from around the nation might be agreeable to a Rutgers offer... NYC, Jersey Beaches, Big Ten schedule... cast a wide net.

The young man is quicker then Snyder and I was impressed with Snyder as a HS player. I just tagged his play last night in the Michigan game and was a bit disappointed he was not filling as fast as he looked from his HS days. Yes he was injured a bit. But in comparing little tape on Reynolds shows quickness and Lumber when he hits. But Reynolds has the speed (per coach) to play outside and even fall back to do man on man safety coverage yea I know that is HS. He is a good Sam now, maybe a Will, he adds freshman 20 and at 255 he can play Mike. Either way he looks like a starter
