We still have a hell of a journey ahead IF we can somehow turn this thing around. 14 games left with 8 of them on the road. Other than the neutral court win over ND, we have yet to win a game outside of the RAC. There is quite a log jam at the bottom of the league right now and we obviously need to play like we did last night, every night. Next couple of games will decide our fate.

Rutgers needs 3 wins in a row..all of which are away from the RAC to enter bubble discussion.

But at this point we need to treat each game as one game seasons

Need to win at least 20 games (regular season + BIG tourney) to make the show.

What concerns me is that the scoring droughts which are the norm are difficult to overcome on the road. This game was a typical Pikiell win with tough defense and just enough offense. On the road its a different environment where Rutgers must make shots to quiet the home crowd.Bailey and Harper must score more than 40 points and Rutgers needs to make more 3 point shots. At this stage of the season winning road games is a absolute necessity.

Felt great winning yesterday, but being realistic we beat a wounded team. We are going to be significant underdogs in the next 7 games. Maybe we catch lightning in a bottle and win some games and gives us a glimmer of hope.

That was (UCLA) the 8th ranked defense and the 100th ranked offense. If you believe in statistics eyeballs tell a different story than the numbers. I came away from the game thinking our D was very good and our O was OK, but the metrics actually tell the opposite.

I am chosing to take a blended average of the metrics and my eyeballs and say we were above average on both O and D.

losing sucks, it creates negativity and doom and gloom and rightfully so. Until you see some success there is no reason to believe you will ever win another game.

The way I look at it last night, yes UCLA was wounded but so was Rutgers. RU showed some character by taking advantage of their opportunity and winning. They fought for this one in the first half even though it was a bit wobbly go of it. Its our best win of the season, we should feel joy today...and i hate that all of sudden they are using that term joy in the sports world. The level needed to win at Nebraska will have to be doubled. Yet its not impossible when you have 2 players like Dylan/Ace who may actually play better under the pressure and excitement of a big time environment. Get that and does winning at Penn State look all that difficult...then you set yourself up for a suddendly meaningful matchup with Izzo at MSG which we should all wish was at the RAC. Improbable..yeah. That just gets us back into the converstation still on the outside looking in, then what happens after that with Illinois and Michigan coming to town.

At the end of the day the Kennesaw State loss was catastrophic for the resume. That some people still say its good we scheduled it for Ace just wants me to puke

I agree with you. The metrics said our d was better against purdue than ucla which I don't agree with. Purdue shot like 70 something percent from 2. The defense was pretty good last night

Dylan Grant being added to the rotation helps.....helps for 2 reasons. 1 he is the long D (potential D) and 3 guy we need. 2 it unlocks another rotation spot and forces Derkack to either bring it EVERY possession defensively or get splinters.

Purdue got so many easy 2's and missed a lot of very open 3's. Let's see what happens when we play at Purdue.

I thought we forced UCLA to take tougher shots, some of which they made. I can live with contested shots going in.

Not difference with Grant Is his length which allows for better positioning on defense also. I truly think Ace is benefiting from this in terms of his blocks and rebounds. Just a hunch.

That said….JUST WIN! I would to get to MSG on a heater—would be electric

We need a run... now. Like 5 of 6 or something like that.. then the spirit that gets built off something like that can feed a monster that can do some serious damage.
