i cant blame the good kids for being leaderless. the problem is at the top.

theyve been through so much the last 3 weeks. to top it off one of the team captain ends up getting arrested too. And then the head coach gets suspended.

Feel bad for us that actually put thousands into Rutgers over the years. Never have anything real to show for it.

These players are playing with no pride or effort! Letting PSU laugh us out of their stadium! Atrocious effort! This is why most of NJ folks are wearing PSU shirts! Nobody wants to be associated with NJ or it's loser mentality state school! Really upsetting!

We lost this 1-week season.. no biggie. Another 1-week season is just around the corner.

Here's my take on Flood.. and it won't be news to many of you.

Flood was an awful co-OC in charge of the running game. He lost that job because he was so bad at it.

GS was successful (some people qualify that with "somewhat"), because he was a vision guy and a leader and a micro-manager who stayed on top of things. He had his issues.. but was also a 1st class DC. And that is what we need in a head coach... some mastership of OC or DC duties... because we cannot pay for masters as assistants.

That is not Flood. Flood would need to be able to attract top OC and DC talent to be any good. Fridge was a nice add.. but it did not last. Our offense is pathetic. Our defense is over-worked because of that. And while we have talent and depth issues in places... we should not be as bad as what we saw tonight.

It is not like the thin DB corps is 99% responsible for what we saw.

The head coach.. and his OC and DC are just not getting it done.

I'd guess that more than half the fan base wanted to see some more Rettig after the Norfolk State game. It should have been PLANNED to make this happen. In this game we saw Laviano lose his helmet and come out.. so we called a timeout rather than have Rettig go in. In the last game Laviano got up limping noticeably.. but we left him in the game and did not even call for an injury timeout to evaluate him.

Flood and his people are just not getting it done.

Aside from Grant, Cioffi, Agudosi, Martin, Hicks. James...there is very little heart on this team...2010 team, even the 2013 team there was more effort.

My guess is once we pull back the onion we will see more and more of how Flood destroyed this program.
