Field Hockey Update

Program may finally be showing some signs of life. Beat then #15 Iowa, in Iowa City, 2-1 just 2 weeks ago. They have lost to 2 ranked teams so far (NW 6th and UVA 12th) and are sitting at 6-4 right now.

Left to play:

PSU (5)
Maryland (8)
Michigan (9)
MSU (5-6/1-2)
OSU (5-7/0-3)
Richmond (5-7)
St. Joes (8-4)

...not an easy slate for sure but think they can pul off a few of these to finish above .500. Sure L's would appear to be PSU, Mary, and Mich. That would put us at 6-7 and needing to take 3 of 4 vs OSU, MSU, Richmond, and St. Joes, to finish at 9-8 on the season.

A big CONGRATS to the ladies! After going just 7-11 last season, without a single win in conference play, the field hockey team sits at 8-6 (2-4) with 3 to go (#5 PSU, Richmond, @ #6 Maryland) and have already qualified for the B1G Tourney! I'd like to see a win over Richmond here for a .500+ regular season at 9-8 which is what I called above. Okay...wait...let's BEAT PSU and Maryland!!!

Girls finish 9-8 and get the 8th seed in the B1G's. Get to play Maryland again, the top seed and #3 team in the nation, in the 1st round.

Girls drop a tough one to The Terps, 3-1, which I will gladly accept against the #3 team in the nation. Signs of life for this program.
