Please correct me if I am wrong, ss I am confused about the rule.
Example. Running back gets tackled and lands on his elbow with ball in that hand and ball pops loose. Call on field is the ground can not cause a fumble
Receiver catches ball in end zone, is being tackled and as he is tackled and falling out of bounds his elbow with ball in hand hits ground and ball pops out. Call on field is incomplete pass
In my opinion both plays are the same, ground causes fumble. Why isn't what's hold gor the goose good for the gander
