It’s predictable. It’s not normal, though. Is common with a certain type of obsessive sports fan, sure. But everybody observing from outside the obsession bubble sees immediately why fan is short for fanatic.
I share the new guys take on how weird it is that people are so bipolar with this stuff. The game threads being the most blatant and troubling example.
When you think about it, a bunch of people reacting to a loss by posting all about what has to happen to “fix the problem” is pretty weird when nothing the entire group does or says has any impact on what happens with the team. It’s very analogous to shouting at the sky on a cloudy day.
We might all do this. But that doesn’t make it normal, in any general sense. It’s only normal for the abnormally obsessive.
Let’s face it, we’re all nuts. 😀
