quick moves off the snap, dont know what level of hs ball he played in Fla,but tape looked great..

lot of good competition in that whole St Pete/Tampa/Orlando area. I believe they play Palmetto where Hicks went. the past two years for us - Pollock, Hewitt, Janarion, Josh Hicks, Isaiah Wharton, Applefield, Ford all from those surrounding areas.

I'm extremely happy with Jarrod Hewitt's comitt to Rutgers...If he were a bit taller I agree he would be a 4* with a bunch of other offers...a smaller Joey Bosa perhaps ?...I can't wait to see him in 2016.

Venice is indeed in the same grouping with Palmetto. Hewitt's HS is in Class 7A, the second largest schools by # of students are in this Class.. Florida has 8 Classes similar to NJ's Groups with both placing the smallest schools in Group/Class 1. They further group schools in Regions and into smaller units (Districts) with Venice HS playing in the following District:

Braden River (Bradenton)
Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton)
North Port
Palmetto
Sarasota
Venice

+400 lb. Bench Press and +500 lb. Squat, 6'2" doesn't equal 'short' with that strength level, it equals 'great leverage' with pad level.

YIKES! And this is the strength level of a young guy who still has another year to go in high school ! -Can only imagine what kind of a bruiser he'll be after some time in the Rutgers weight room.

WELCOME, Jarrod, to the Rutgers family! ...GREAT having you with us "On The Banks"!!

Sir Jarrod Hewitt of Venice. Welcome and good luck. Time to get to work .
B1G east division is no joke. Make the most of your opportunity. Cant wait to see Jarrod's hudl tape after his senior year - theres going to be some ridiculous hits on it.

"It's a family up here," Hewitt told NJ.com. "It's 100 percent a family and I feel completely comfortable being here. I loved everything about this place. I feel like here I have the best opportunity to be successful in my life and I have an opportunity to make an impact."

WHAT A STUD! I love this kid. I think him and Panagos will literally be 2 peas in a pod.

Congrats to Hewitt!
