Following an Army win...

There are posters who are simply The King is Dead, Long Live the King types. They will support Flood and the RU administration's choice to keep him until the very end. Then if he gets fired, they will support the new guy with equal fervor. It just is.

Basically, they can be ignored, since their opinion is so non-fact based. Like less delusional sounding versions of RutgersAl. The fan base needs them to get through rough spots, but at times like this, when the choice to fire the guy is so obvious, they become a hindrance.

Not to mention that Nuts was doing the same thing to others when he was still on the Flood bandwagon. Screaming at everyone who wasn't buying into Flood, rationalizing away his failures and disputing people who were calling his wins "smoke and mirrors". Anyone who was posting a lot back then could tell you it wasn't until the Houston homecoming game where he flipped and saw the light. Maybe with the new search feature someone can dig up all the excuses after that SMU debacle.

I was pretty much "Off" the bandwagon following SMU for both on, and off the field, reasons. There are posters here, whom I converse with quite often off the boards, who can verify as much. Thank you.

To be 100% honest I thought he had a shot until 3 things happened:

1) we got manhandled by Kent State on homecoming 2012

2) The team completely not showing up, in any phase of the game, on a cold day in Pittsburgh, Nov 2012, when I was in the stands.

3) The pathetic coaching job he displayed in Orlando 2012

...then once the SMU and off-field debacles began I "flipped," but have stayed this side ever since, unlike unlike some posters on this board, who have flipped multiple times now, regarding their thoughts on Flood.

You sound like an idiotic megalomaniac trying to carry out a vendetta against anybody who ever dared to question your opinions.
I don't recall "bashing" you. Debating yes, but bashing no. But in your mind, if someone does not subscribe to YOUR view, you take it as an unholy insult and save it for later. Yes, pathetic is right.
And I am 100% certain that I never "whined" to John. You are free to ask him.
Carry on, because we all know you have to get the last word in to prove in YOUR mind that YOU are right. lyndj nailed you on the why Flood will be terminated for cause thread when he said "I realize that you are a "god" on this board so what you say must be true" to the point where I and others were laughing out loud.

No vendetta, no megalomania, but there's nothing wrong with shooting down the people who incessantly bashed me, for over a year - about things I and OTHERS were 100% spot-on about - and helped to get me banned (whether you contacted John directly, or not...). Sorry if you don't like it but, you know what, too bad.

You're a great fan, no doubt, but your obsession with Flood has reached downright scary levels Shift.

"I was right. And I wont rest until a bunch of anonymous people who I don't know admit it. Any I am not really sure who argued with me, or who said what, but I don't care. I will shout down the anonymous people who I suspect had something do with it.... And who might have disagreed with me.... probably."

I don't mean to pick on you man, but its really not a good look. Its an anonymous board. No one really remembers what was said. More importantly no one cares, and most importantly, it doesnt matter, because we are going to be relieved of our idiot head coach one way or another in two weeks' time. So let's just all enjoy our turkey next week, and hope we can agree to support the new head coach for at least a season.

Its going to be scary next time around, when peoples opinions on the next coach are all archived right out of the gate.

Actually, many of us DO know one another, and many here DO remember what was said, who said it, why and when, believe it or not. So, I really don't care if it's a "good look," or not, and I've actually been very quiet until just the last few days, about the past, but when posters like Shift have to make statements as such - which I initially responded to in this thread - well, shit's gonna come out. Bottom line.

BTW - it's NOT just about me. I make sure, almost every time this comes up, to say "myself and others," because plenty here saw what was coming and heard about things going on, off the field, starting back in Oct 2013. I'm not alone in this, at all, never have been.

I suppose its your perogative. I'll shut up and mind my own business.... not my fight anyway. I just think the lynch mob mentality that has been cropping up in most threads the last few days has really made this an awful spot to spend my free time. Moreover, I'm not even sure who people are arguing with, since no one serious is still defending Flood. It just seems so pointless, since we basically all agree a change has to be made. I guess some people's feelings were hurt, so now they want to get their shots in. I get that. But to what end?

Maybe I should take some time off. There aren't any discussions on here worth participating in, and its not like things are going to change anyway. Come back for the celebration once Flood is fired.

A less than 2 TD victory over Army is a lose in my book.

No, please stay. I think he kept/keeps a log in a notebook like Flood or Rainman for every time somebody disagreed with him. During his ban, he even took to Twitter to yell at his detractors. He's the Don Quixote of Scarlet Nation, tilting at windmills. Highly entertaining fellow. What he fails to see is there is a lot we agree on, but he is blinded by some faux rage of something I didn't do in the past.

Stop providing people with prodding comments, like the one that began all this, and we'll move along. Yes you DID whine about me in the past - all over these boards - so just stop denying it, please, and we'll be good. My comments, btw, aren't ONLY about "you" Shift....lol, had to do that! [cheers]

whatever, NUTS. All I want for Christmas is peace, love and understanding on Scarlet Nation. Just some advice-let the past go. I doubt I contributed to your banning (and I certainly never complained to John since I was laid up most of last year after major surgery and more important things on my mind like staying alive), but I don't think you will agree with that. That's fine. I can't change your mind. I resolved after last year to not make enemies and seek common ground with those I disagree with. We all want a winner. Some of us are more patient and forgiving than others. That does not make us better, it just makes us different. Let's move on.

What if we win, but the final score is 17 - 13, and the two TDs were a Grant kick return and a fumble on the option returned?

A victory over Army and Maryland will almost guarantee Flood staying next year and in my opinion that's causing a great deal of anxiety among those who want him gone. Termination after a 2-0 finish will only happen if there is grounds for GROSS INSUBORDINATION. Just think about this logically. The guy went 8-4 last year, lost at least 4 or 5 starters this year finishes the season 5-7 and the university still fired him. No coach in their right mind would ever take this job. Unless of course he had guaranteed money for the next five years. Listen, I hated the idea of Flood coaching this team from day one. I wanted Bobby Patrino or Mark Mangino. If people were able to forgive and give either gentlemen a chance we would be threatening for a B10 title or at least the number 2 or 3 spot. Unfortunately Rutgers fans are not on the same page when it comes to big time football. Immediately you heard the holier than thou sermon "we are Rutgers, not Kansas or Louisville". So in the end you get an O-Line coach who is a nice guy but can't recruit or beat a worthy opponent. Mark Mangino was an offensive genius at Oklahoma and Kansas. Bobby Patrino is also an offensive genius who was one game away from taking Louisville to a national championship game in 2006. He took Arkansas to one or two BCS bowl games. Yes, you read the post correctly we thumbed our noses up at two guys that would have made us competitive and potentially feared on the gridiron.

LOLZ. Here we have a thread creating a hypothetical situation and bating (or bashing) other posters in advance for what they might hypothetically do it that proposed situation were to come true. And it is now no longer enough that 99.9% here want Flood gone......the new standard apparently is that you had to have wanted him gone 3 years ago and already been martyred for the cause.

Defeating Army and Maryland won't change the fact that the five wins were against opponents with losing records.Until Rutgers starts defeating opponents with a winning record the future will remain bleak regardless the head coach.

(Win over Army) How soon before we see calls for Flood to stay if "we finish strong and beat Maryland".

As off base as that will be, bet we see that, and that Flood himself will talk about "finishing strong" if Army is a win.

LOLOL Army and Maryland is NOT finishing strong, regardless if we win both games....

You are a fool. You cry to the mods but think awful attacks like this are ok. Either stop attacking people on this board or man up and take your medicine when people respond.

I know of one probably the ringleader that hasn't posted since the skid
