Looking at his recruiting timeline and the comments about being commutable from Montreal, it looks like we stole this dude from Syracuse, who seemingly wanted him pretty badly. Schiano overcame a lot of love from Fran Brown and a lot of extra travel time in the car to pull this off.

Seems like the freshman RB Guetierre (sP?) has been impressive in spring ball and no mention of Winowich.

A 3rd RB in the class of 2024 is a little surprising.
How so since it is a position where injuries are frequent. The DB positions falls under same issue…. Some may leave in this new era of NIL and as an example we just had “ Shortie” al Shadee Salaam made the switch.

Do you even watch RU football?

Shortie switched to DB during last fall (mid season) because he was not seeing much time at RB. Monagie, Brown and Benjamin were ahead of Shortie at RB.

We will now have 6 RBs this fall and no team plays 6 RBs.

What did I write above about Salaam?FWIW: we actually used 3-4 guys …. Did you realize the year prior we lost Brown after the Indiana game. Monangai got banged up and Jason Benjamin got valuable time as a sub…We were lucky last season 2023 …Monangai got injured do you recall that. Take a look at many P 5 roster where some have 8 RB’s . With the way the portal works 8 could be 4 or 5. Do you understand that simple statistic.

Just for AM clock’s info …as an example Michigan … Penn State ….have minimum of 8-10 RB’s … now go check teams in the SEC like Georgia or Alabama

Been watching since high school 1966…. Then in college in the 70’s…. Season ticket holder for over 37 years …. No I never watched Rutgers football. 🤫

So how does reclassification work? Will this kid aready have completed 4 yrs of high school in June? Not sure is his school is one of those gap year academies. Or, is he only going to HS for 3 yrs? @Richie O

Or maybe because he's Canadian the exchange rate on HS education is different.

He was old for his age at the school in Florida he was at, spent majority of his life in Canada and has the credits / academics figured out and will enroll this summer.

"The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Raymond picked Rutgers from a top six that also included Miami, South Carolina, Mississippi State, West Virginia and South Florida. He also had offers from Iowa, Texas A&M, Maryland, Auburn, Syracuse and Cincinnati, among others."

Good work by Greg and his team.

How’s this for a crowded stable of running backs in 2001 for Miami-lol. 5 of them had 14 or more rushes each.

Willis McGahee
Frank Gore
Clinton Portis
Najee Davenport
Jarrett Payton
Quadtrine Hill
Frank Bayless
And a couple more…

Love it. RBs is one of the few positions that a true freshman can contribute in a 2 deep (and honestly I don't think any 3 or 4 star player freshman can be red-shirted these days given the portal and NIL).

LFG!!!
