Corey Sanders is really our only offensive option. He took over this afternoon. Nigel hit a couple of big three's and CJ played really well today I thought. Esp defensively.

Nice follow by Sanders after Gettys had rebounding position, but missed the ball coming down. He might have been pushed, but it was his ball to put back in. For a change, we catch a break and take advantage.

Was following along here. Always funny reading the abomination posts when we pull it out in the end. Finally got a close one. Now they know they can. Baby steps

Out of control Corey. Give me a break. He was the offense today. Yeah sometimes he does go a little bonkers, but that's what you need. No ones ever gonna make all their shots, and sometimes you commit a TO trying to make a play. But he's not afraid to take the final shot. We could use a little confidence out there. It's a major ingredient in winning close games.
And Freeman had a subpar 2nd half. What, Nebraska can't make adjustments? Now you want him to stop driving 'cause he gets blocked a couple of times. You want him to take the fade-away 6-footer now -- the one where a 6-6 guy is going against the trees? How do you think we built a 10 point halftime lead? Did you think Nebraska sat Watson cause he wanted to? Foul trouble and a short bench was the inpetus for the last 8 minutes of the half (remember -- no Watson). And how may times did Watson back off in the 2nd half? (Maybe Sanders EIGHTEEN in the second half could give a wink to foul trouble).Especiallly after foul #4? And what mediocre free throw shooter put in two pressure packed FTs at the 45 sec (?) mark?
Let's give these kids credit for being there most of the time instead of lambasting them screwing up (or not being perfect) sometimes.

It's funny to see the guys posting how terrible the team is during earlier parts of the game disappear when they play well and pull out the win.

Game threads are a breeding ground for moronic hot takes. Football game threads are even worse.
Feel good win but man they refuse to make it easy. But confidence is important and hopefully they learn how to play with a lead.
I reallly dont think these kinds of posts are necessary...these threads reflect the flow of the game. RU was on a 18-2 run and the posts were positive, then Nebby went on a 32-13 run and they turned negative and it looked like the team was going to follow the pattern from previous games. No reason to beat up posters for what they were posting.
Sorry I disagree. Reading this thread back made me sick as a Rutgers fan - this player sucks, that player is killing us, this guy should never see the court, and on an on. Great fans we have...of course you're all the guys watching from home instead of at the RAC supporting the team so I guess it figures
Before you smack down Rutgers fans, I think you need to read other schools' boards. If you go to Nebraska, they want to fire their coach now because they've lost four in a row. It's called being a fan whether it's positive or negative, it's called being a fan, as in short for fanatic. Relax.
Just watched the game on DVR, without knowing the outcome. Thought for sure we were dead after McVeigh's killer treys to put Neb up 64-59, but we kept fighting and continuing to play good defense and Corey made some great plays, including the winner. Awesome win.
Sorry I missed it, as I only have tix for half the home games - part of the deal I had to make with our group to even keep our two season tix - they all want pairs of tix, but I really only want one, but had to take pairs for half the games instead. Coach and team deserved to win this one - nice to see all their hard work paying off. Now let's go beat Maryland on the road, lol.

I don't care what other fans bases do - I'm talking about ours. Being a "fan" doesn't entail calling out individual players as "sucking" when they are out there giving their all. I just hope the guys coming off a big win don't come here to read what the "fans" really think of them. My opinion, sorry if you disagree.

You clearly missed the point.
I don't care about negative comments. It's the people who only post negative then disappear when the team plays well. If someone is truly posting based on how the game is going for Rutgets you would see a combination of positive and negative posts from them.......so many choose to only post negative comments. That's my point.
being negative then positive then back again is part of most RU MBB fan's posting habit. Depending on how the game or season is going, but insulting players shouldn't be a part of any fan's post about the game or season.
Hard not to talk about who's playing a good game and who isn't, but disrespecting them because of a bad game shouldn't be an accepted practice on this RU board, in my opinion.

The small forward position is a disaster because there is a complete absence of offense.Its like playing 5 against 4 which gives the opponent a decided advantage.
