These team is damn fun to watch. What a comeback
Have to be a RU football fan for sure. Don't worry, you didn't jinx them, they did it all by themselves.I must be a jinx since it's my first time watching the team and we are losing
thanks..I thought I saw other thread that it was only for section 211. but good to know.promo code BOGOMB and BOGOWB for tix any any remaining home men's or women's bball game. Tix are for the 300 level or 200 level ends.
Epic death struggle
Inexcusable loss, but when you see teams like Indiana lose to Fort Wayne you realize it's a little more difficult than you expect to avoid a wtf loss
Hartford shot lights out. That's going to be our kryptonite this year but not many teams will be as successful from the field as they were today. Almost 50% from 3 is insane. I know a lot of people have criticized our ability to close on shooters but that's nuts.
Pike needs to unleash saunders and Johnson offensively and defensively you have 2 reallly dynamic, upbeat guys with quick quick hands. He is hand cuffing them
You can unleash them without them being out of control
Plus now they know they are capable of pulling out an improbable victory when you seem almost done. There wouldn't have been too many teams that would have won that game period.Gutsy.

I am still trying to get re-linked to the email updates though. I'll reach out to the RAC or something.
Complain about how piss poor the coaching effort is some more [eyeroll]Pike needs to unleash saunders and Johnson offensively and defensively you have 2 reallly dynamic, upbeat guys with quick quick hands. He is hand cuffing them

Did you watch that half court offense?? Your 7 ft center is handling the ball 12-14 ft from rim and nobody covering him. Your 2 slicing dicing guards are standing on the outside passing the ball around the horn. Your whole offense was predicated finding guys in the corner to hit a 3 or Freeman down low. Hartford"s zone was not even good but we did nothing to press the zone until the last 4 minutes or so in the game. We were satisfied with standing there throwing the ball around the outside and letting them stay in that zone for 20 plus seconds a posession. if we went uptempo we would have blown them out by 20+ . they were hitting all those 3's because we did nothing to make them work on the defensive end. Funny how shots don't fall when your legs are not totally under you. All the guys on Hartford had fresh legs, all their 3's were right on. Press them a little and make them work offensively and defensively and they pull the trigger a little quicker than they want, the legs are a little tires etc...What makes you think he is handcuffing them?

Maybe that was Pike teaching these guys how to win a half court game...maybe teaching them how to win the tough ones rather than go up tempo and blow Hartford out
We must be watching two different games.Did you watch that half court offense?? Your 7 ft center is handling the ball 12-14 ft from rim and nobody covering him. We must be watching two different games.
This is what team offense looks like. And that works better than watching one guy go 1 on 5 as your base offense.
If you want to call that a leash, fine. Every player in the country is on a leash.
And Nigel Johnson must have Hartford with the points to earn a little Christmas shopping cash. Putrid.
There goes our NCAA hopes.
Time to start drafting the "Fire coaches" thread :cool2:
Not real happy with the coaching down the stretch
Team has to learn how to win, nobody should be surprised.

This will hurt fan support. Buzz was just starting to build.
I think you're both right. Letting Corey go uptempo and freelance probably would have resulted in a bigger win today but is not how you win vs better competition....
Corey is just fine. He did plenty of freelancing last year and you saw where that got us. We have a more balanced team this year and Corey is running the show admirably. We got plenty of open looks against their zone. They just weren't falling at times. The high/low between Gettys and Freeman was very effective, so don't complain that our center is 12-14 ft from the basket. That's how we, and many others run zone offense.I think you're both right. Ouch...LOL. (although I think a couple were more tongue in cheek)^^^^
Not picking on you guys, just love to see the early reactions in game threads that become ironic afterwards! ;P
