Giants hire Ben McAdoo

To be honest I don't know how to feel about this promotion. I knew they brought him in to change the offense and I figured they didn't want to change it again so soon, so I guess I kinda knew this was coming. He's young and unproven so who knows maybe he'll be good. Hell he makes RU's hire look like a seasoned veteran. The big problem however is Reese. As long as he is there the talent level will continue to decrease. He 's just not a good evaluator of talent. I must be getting old the head coaches of both my favorite teams are younger than me. God I dreaded this day but I haven't even hit 50 yet. It sucks.

Does he keep spagnola? Would spagnola want to stay? Will we see a thread saying to hire the Giants running back coach?
When you can the head coach but keep OC, DC and GM you almost have to hire a coordinator. This is one of the best jobs in football - this is an uninspiring choice IMO.
You're right..but really bugs me. Eli is a veteran..the whole "new offense" thing is so overblown and dumb.

Stupid hire. IMHO. I may be in the minority, but I didn't see why they had to run Coughlin out of town. Especially not to hire McAdoo. No on else was going to hire McAdoo. So you could've just done this next year. The problem is not coaching. The problem is execution and talent. The team is and has been better than the talent on the field.

I think that's part of the reason he was promoted. If things with McAdoo with Eli works out.... then great. But if McAdoo becomes Ray Handley II, then his job will be in jeopardy just as Eli's career is winding down and Giants can do that important rebuild in the post-Eli future of the Giants.
Simply not worth changing the entire offense for Eli again considering how many years he probably has left. That certainly was a huge factor in hiring McAdoo. Eli's stats were very impressive this season IMO, tied for second in TD passes and Eli had his best passer rating since 2009 at 93.6.
However keeping Spags as DC is a terrible move and I couldn't believe Giants stuck with him. I support the McAdoo hire but Spags is nothing special and I know Big Blue can do better.
Considering what was out there, this is no surprise. Do Ross and Reese still have jobs? They are the one's that have destroyed this team with horrific draft after horrific draft.
Marrone is not an inspiring figure....i'd hate to see him be the ''face'' of any school or franchise...he looks to have ''people'' issues..droll personality..Makes Tom Coughlin look charismatic..
Supposedly McAdoo was the #2 choice for the Eagles (after Gase), they wanted to hire him yesterday. Now the Eagles are on to Coughlin. [sick]

I was really worried that they were going to go the safe route and take either Mike Smith or Marrone. This is a big risk, big reward hire. The Giants have a lot of cap space and draft 10th. This is a make or break season for Reese. The first thing I would do if I was BM is hire a clock management specialist that stands right next to me during the game. The second thing to do is figure out why the Giants the past four years have most of their team on IR by the beginning of December.
In today's NFL, with a few good moves the Giants can easily be in the playoffs next year.

McAdoo is just holding the spot. Eli is 35. He better get the most out of him in the next few years. There isn't much more talent wise on that team than Eli and Beckham
