In tonight's Yankee game once again Girardi made some poor choices. In a 0-0 game Bird led off with a single in the 4th or 5th inning and than Headley came up and of course again there is no plan to bunt Bird to second. Instead Headley bounces into a double play. McCann could have led off the 7th with a bunt toward third and could have easily made it to first but he didn't even try. The game was 1-0 at that point. The Yankees never try to play small ball. Home Runs probably will not happen that often in the playoffs but Joe seems too stubborn to try anything different. Gardner and Ellsbury never try to put a bunt down the third base line either to get a runner on. Lastly tonight Girardi took Nova out with 2 outs in the 6th after he walked Russell Martin. I wanted Nova to get out of the inning himself. Instead Girardi brought in James Pazos who grooved an 0-2 pitch for a single. Than Caleb Cotham came in and gave up a hit to score a run. Nova got the tough loss as the walk to Martin scored. Everyone seems to try and hit a home run. The Yanks didn't learn from a few years ago when the Tigers and the Rangers beat them in the playoffs. I think Girardi knows baseball very well but a team must be able to play different styles to be successful. I think in some ways he is just as stubborn as Flood over Laviano/ Rettig.

Hi Art. Hope all is well. I thought we were going after a recruit named Girardi...lol. You're better off posting this to the FB Board for feedback....Hope to see you shortly....

I thought Giradi, being a catcher with National League roots, would have changed the way The Yanks played, in tight and post-season games, after watching a couple of Torre's teams get knocked out of the post-season because Joe T was so damn stubborn about not having his "big bats" sacrifice. Unfortunately, because he inherited some guys from those teams - who were his friends - and had some other big $$$ bats in the lineup, I think he was afraid to make the change, and is just "stuck in the mud" regarding this topic. Yeah, those big bats came in clutch, many times, but I think Jeter would have been closer, to Yogi's 10 rings, had Torre been less stubborn.

Bullpen!!! 4-5 filthy arms in the pen is the game now. Royals showed it last year. My Pirates went out and got Soria. Pirates now have 4 really good arms in the pen.

Imagine if Yanks signed Robertson and Robertson, Miller and Betances. If they have a better farm system, which doesn't cost money under luxury tax, they could have afforded to keep Robertson.

Girardi is awful. Too bad we will squeak into playoffs before being blown out early and he will be back next year

Another terrible inexcusable loss last night. The team hit into four double plays hit on grounders to short. The Yankees would never ever think of squeezing in a run. With the game tied at 2-2 Headley hit into a killer DP with the bases loaded. The other 3 all were bad too. No one seems to be able to hit the ball to the other side. Where is Phil Rizzuto when we need him?
