No idea but it's obvious she's got an Alpha personality. Single minded and driven. It also appears she believes it's her against the world in comments about the doubters. Maybe that's what works best for her?
Of course none of this was considered when she was voted World Player of the Year. Just sayin.

Maybe you R right about what you heard. What I HAVE heard is that Carli is so intense/shy that she takes everything so personally (and so focused/wants to be) that she
is tough to be around. I read she doesn't want family or her (last I heard) boyfriend at games lest the US loses and she'd blame herself for getting distracted.
I'm no great athlete but as a kid I didn't particularly like my parents at my games. I was shy and didn't like distractions.
Also, from experience, some shy or quiet people-or prim" people-think New Englanders-
can appear arrogant when approached-in reality they are just shy or tsc just vtheir natural demeanor.
Also many are rude in this day of celebrity shootings and stabbings are a bit leary. I worked out with a St Peters ER doc who was pretty big. He went to RIO (yes likely booty) and was mugged and beaten up in a RIO alleyway.
Many people approach celebs when they want privacy such as out at dinner. People should wait until a celebrity isn't preoccupied-andc ask for a time to take a pic or get an autograph. Many celebrities comply-some don't.
