Tango, was this at least partly due to a connection with Donny Pritzlaff, via Wisconsin?

From someone not that tuned into wrestling, this seems like a really big deal. Is this like getting Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers coming to Rutgers to be a volunteer coach ? Does his position allow for off campus recruiting or is it confined to actual instruction? Is he allowed to coach with youth in the Scarlet Knights Wrestling Club? Thanks

Graff named volunteer assistant coach at Rutgers

Rutgers wrestling head coach Scott Goodale added former Wisconsin four-time All-American and current USA World Team member Tyler Graff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2019-20 campaign. Graff, who competed collegiately for the Badgers from 2008-14 at 133 pounds, will represent Team USA at the World Wrestling Championships from Sept. 14-22 in Nursultan, Kazakhstan after his 61-kilogram men's freestyle series victory at Final X: Lincoln on June 15.

I would say more like Jim Kelly (Buffalo Hall of Famer QB) coming in as an assistant coach.

This is great. news. I asked in the other thread. Can someone please explain what the advantage is both for graff and rutgers going from skwc to staff volunteer? Is the stipend better? Can he know do things other than train?

Pretty sure the big difference is Graff can be in the practice room during all scheduled practices. Technically, RTC athletes(Ash, Downey) cannot be in the room at practice. They can work with RU wrestlers at RTC practices or at other times.

Thanks for this.

Does he get to coach at matches and tournaments as well?

Ash can be in the room anytime, because he is a Rutgers Alumnus.
