Another good example of when NOT to turn around. Apple was beat on a double move and stayed a stride behind Tate. Tate put his hands out to catch the balk and Apple put his hand in the way and deflected the pass. Perfect technique.

Yes great play. But what made it great? He made a play on the ball. Many times db's that don't turn around don't make a play on the ball.

Apple was an elite CFB CB. He played a ton of games and now being taught at the highest level. That is a lot different then 90% of kids we are seeing play in college that may not have made that play.

Yes, so what is your point? OP stated Apple made a great play . He did because he made a play on he ball. He's a professional .

Seems more like, he got burned, put his hands up and is lucky his arms hit the ball.

I agree with YesRutgers but I am just trying to point out there is a time to turn and a time not to turn. But yeah, we have seen our best at RU learn this over time and not as True Freshmen for sure.

His technique was perfect. Lucky or not he was on an island and made a great play there. Your comments are ignorant which is expected.

The point is that the OP brought it up for only one reason...

He has unbelievable closing speed, that's why he was able to make the play. Watch it again, when he closes he reads the Wr's hands as he reaches for the ball and puts his hand right in front . Knowing you can't catch a ball if it's not in your hands.

Yes he has great closing speed. The Giants have 3 corners playing very well now. Allows for the front 7 to be very aggressive.
