But at least she is on the list. I was hoping for better as well but there is a lot of competition out there and some of her last several games were not up to the standards of some of her earlier games.

Have to believe it is a sign of disrespect towards CVS and the team which still is out there. Will
need to make some noise in the tournament this year and again next . We have not been front and center for awhile now and for some reason we are looked upon as inferior in WBB.

Would have loved to have seen her make at least 3 team, but guess have to accept the honor she was given and hold off any complainant about honorable mention.

I think Arella made a solid case for being 2nd or 3rd team. Was surely better than Hon Men. I haven't seen a lot of A. McDonald and Kiana Williams. Maybe the eye-test would justify their spots, but a glance at stat comparisons puts Arella in place of either one of them.
Agreed, she has struggled a few games this season (reason I wouldn't put her on 1st team), but when you look at the never quit-attitude during those struggles, you realize that she still imposed her will on those games to be a major part of each games success. Getting to the line(89% FT), blocks, rebounds, steals, and assists,..... all that on top of a 20+ pt scoring avg.

I would go with Arella or Owusu breaking into that 2nd team in place of McDonald or ....maybe?? even Collier. Collier has good numbers but was just so-so against the better teams and was owned by Baylor's Smith. She is considered the likely top pick moreso on potental imo. If Owusu gets the nod, then Arella takes her spot on 3rd team.

After seeing all parties involved, I feel more strongly that Arella clearly was short-changed regarding the AP All-American selections. I won't say she should replace A. McDonald(not at all). Aari showed she belongs. I do see at least two players who are not the big-time player Arella proved to be this season.
Although I like Kiana Williams, and she had a great storybook year,.... at the very least, I would swap her position with Arella's. Arella's stats are better in every category except free throw percentage (89%KW to 86%AG). And just think, which player scares you more to have to defend? AG has huge games against the tougher competition. Williams' success, largely came on hitting open threes. After watching Stanford, I can understand why she would be open enough to hit 6 or 7 threes in a game. She had such an offensively-talented team that she never saw the kind of attention that Arella did from opposing defenses. Arella had to hit her threes while closely contested.
My thoughts on C. Collier still stand. IMO, AG ranks higher than her based on this year's performance (not potential, which may make Collier the first pick in WNBA draft). Collier was a non factor in too many big games. Never the case with AG.
Final verdict: IMO....Arella G.(2nd team AP AA) replacing C. Collier who could replace Kiana W or M. Onyenwere on 3rd team.

And I'll tell you what's even more insulting than the AP AA Hon Men...........The decision of that Senior Class Award committee putting Arella on the All-Senior 2nd team (out of only two teams). That is just Criminal!!!
We could all clearly see that AG would have been, at worst, 2nd in the voting if not for the hackers for Rennia and the girl from Maine or wherever she was from. And considering the other criteria, no way she ends up missing out on their 1st team.
Arella deserved better from these committees.

There are many reasons why WBB has gotten little exposure and press clippings other than the coach. In this region we are the 2nd best team and that is reason #1. Win the conference. Get to the tournament and win a game. Writers who choose these players and teams are strongly biased in picking ALL STARS. . How long have you followed Rutgers? Was Arella dissed maybe.
