Transferring from Iowa St after transferring from Oregon St.

Hearing there could be mutual interest between RU and Hallice. Grew up in NY and played for St. Anthony's.

Interesting, not a grad transfer but has 2 years of eligibility left. However I presume he would have to sit another year after sitting in 2014-15 after transferring from OSU to Iowa St. Which means to get his full 4 years of playing he may need to be granted a 6th year of eligibility. (4 years of playing + 2 sit years).

eh.....maybe....another kid that suddenly sees playing time but can he contribute here??...how can he want to sit another year after spotty minutes at Iowa State??

You have 5 years to play 4, unless you miss two seasons due to injury.

Yes but there are waivers as you indicate for a 6th year including injuries. And I believe this also qualifies.

Does he try for a waiver to play immediately ? Of course, there would need to be some type of family issue to get that waiver. Rutgers would need to take a risk and hope that he gets it. If not, sitting out a 2nd year as a transfer would be tough for any player.

That waiver doesn't exist anymore.

Pass. nothing personal to him but 1)He sits a year when we desperately need bodies and 2)I would rather try and get the best hs 2017 kids than use up a scholarship on a transfer.

pass. we need someone who can come in and contribute right away.

i wonder why he transferred in the first place? looks like he put up pretty good numbers as a freshman

It's also tough to get that 6th year of eligibility. You have to have real medical documentation to back up the two years you missed due to injury,

I've known Hallice since he was a sophomore at St. Anthony.

I think a year further removed from injury (hip surgery during his red shirt year) and he'll be quite a bit better than he was at Iowa State.

That said, it's tough to give him scholarship knowing that he'll have to sit out a year and then have only one year of eligibility left at this point.

On the other hand, it would give a more experienced player and help balance the roster.

No doubt, which is why if push came to shove, I certainly wouldn't be against adding Hallice, especially since his past history with St. Anthony and Sports U.

Kendall Stephens is also transferring to Nevada which makes 12. So if the twins are headed there too, Nevada will need to make room and will have 4 transfers sitting next year.

Surprised the Martins would be going to Nevada Reno rather than UNLV, who desperately needs players.
