I'm extremely worried that Hamilton will not be a full go for the entire season. That, and Turay not being ready, will create serious problems with our DL rotation. Hope I'm wrong.

Concerning.
"He's practiced every day,'' Ash said of the 6-3, 285-pound fifth-year senior defensive tackle who figures to be a catalyst to the Rutgers defense. "He picks and chooses the drills that he can get the most return out of his investment on.

"But he's looked good. He's running around well, and he says he feels well. He's getting a little bit sore, which is to be expected. Everybody's a little bit sore right now. But he's done a nice job. Looked good.''

While Hamilton, Perry, Gray, Applefield and Gleeson all participated in various drills, Turay was the lone player held to the sideline, where he was seen doing pushups and lifting weights.:grimace:

2 Years ago both Hamilton and Turay seemed bound for greatness, unfortunately a freak injury for Hamilton seems to have greatly impacted his career and injuries and possibly work ethic has derailed Turay.
Fortunately, RU seems to have depth at DL. I think RU gets production this year from Hamilton, although not the All American caliber type season Hamiton seemed poised for 2 years ago. Maybe Turay can be a FG blocking specialist, he doesn't seem able to practice enough to be a factor as DE anymore.

I had heard (at the beginning of) last season that Hamilton would be lucky to play football on a "full-time basis" again. Who knows if that's true or not but it seems like all the signs are pointing to something just not being right. Gotta feel really bad IF that's the case.

Some of you are discounting the fact that maybe he's just proud of his Irish heritage.
Do you guys know what Hamilton's injury was, specifically? I know it was a knee injury.
Not sure of the exact injury, but it was caused by having a blocking sled run into his leg.

I was hoping to hear some phrases from the Coaches, like "he's unblockable". "We have to keep him out of the scrimmage, because he's destroying everyone in his path". And "he's annihilating people in the drills."

Instead, it's "he's picking his spots".

I'm just hoping Hamilton is healthy, and plays in all of the games.

That's it, you guys just locked him in, Darius "The Hulk" Hamilton. I like it, when he gets his first sack of the year, I'm chanting Hulk!
