Ask the recruits and players what they want to hear. They matter we don't and that's it.
Forget the player and recruits. This is all about me, dammit!Ask the recruits and players what they want to hear. They matter we don't and that's it.

You're wrong. We do matter. It's our butts in the seats cheering them on. It's our money that's allowing our sports programs to progress. It us who are there supporting them when a team isn't doing well. It's us who have been there with the University through thick and thin, good times and bad.Ask the recruits and players what they want to hear. They matter we don't and that's it.
Our money is not allowing our sports programs to progress it's what's holding us back. You and I matter very little we are easily replaceable. Recruits do not want to hear old guy music our current players do not want to hear old guy music. Our players want what their generation listens to not what your or mine listens to. Most of our fan base gives the bare minimum to our sports programs and do that while complaining to no end. The people in charge know this so they won't cater to the fans. We need players so that is who the administration will cater to on game day Mr Moderator. You're wrong. We do matter. It's our butts in the seats cheering them on. Country music is the only form of music I can't stand listening to. Like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.In light of the musical tastes of a lot of people on here it's funny that that people are against "country". Country music today (or "modern country") is just about the only thing in the main stream that is listenable. It's simple rock. Sure, most of the musician aren't geniuses and there are more than a few ballads but it could easily pass for Bon Jovi or any other main stream rock group still out there.
The idea that Flo Rida should be played over country is hilarious (and I don't even mind Flo Rida).

My youngest kid likes country music. Yet another reason I know there's a God and that (a) he has a great sense of humor, and (b) he hates me. [laughing]
Agree that the music has to be appealing to the players too. Wild guess here, but doubt the majority of players are country music fans. Can't think of many country tunes that would inspire the crowd and the players to get pumped up when 99% of country songs deal with depressing topics like a horse running away or dying, a break up, a pickup truck will not start or losing a cowboy hat.
Bring the noise with Anthrax/Public Enemy would be a good song, and it's local too.
Thought the "HUM" and accompanying video was well done but only Rutgers would create a "Crowd Video" to encourage the fans to keep their mouths shut. You can not "HUM" loudly nor open your mouth and hum. Couldn't imagine being in that meeting and saying that will increase noise in our stadium. Much like the air guitar third down motion. Does not add to overall volume in the stadium. It actually probably works counter to the intended result. It would be good to get a pump up theme of our own, the way Wisconsin has jump around. The EDM Hum was a good idea, but they spent too much time on the hum part and not getting to the part of the song that could get the crowd moving.
Heck if we are going to do Bruce then nothing beats Born To Run with perhaps some editing or a slight change in the lyrics with his approval of course. The sax solo is somethg outstanding and will bring people to their feet snd just the opening instrumental and vocals (might even edit a few words) could be Rutgers signature ID song both home and way. We need something to get the crowd into the team entrance and I can picture people standing on their feet, waving their arms and the team coming out with the usual smoke and mirrors and a big picture on the Jumbotron.
I don't have the technical savy but if someone can go on line and capture a video of Born To Run and post it here it would be appreciated. I dare anyone to sit still and not get into it as the crowds do when they hear him play it at any concert.
While we are at it then let's add some additional life with s couplr of oldies by the Stones. When there is a series if great plays, or an exceptional run or pass..then Start Me Up is perfect. And a little on a poor or bad replay call....Can't Get No Satisfaction is perfect. And after a win, let's go with Glory Days. All may be oldies but true identifiable and appropriate classics. Again a key here is making sure there are no royalty violations etc but oneone would think or hope that Bruce being a NJ guy would approve and even welcome the additional B1G and national exposure. I am sure the media would pick this up as they do for other teams.
Even God doesn't think Andy Samberg is funny.Country music is the only form of music I can't stand listening to. Like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

Ha ha. Now that's my kind of party! It would be good to get a pump up theme of our own, the way Wisconsin has jump around. The EDM Hum was a good idea, but they spent too much time on the hum part and not getting to the part of the song that could get the crowd moving.
Good point. Not a Bon Jovi fan, but this song "This is R House" with the follow up could get the crowd going--good lyrics too:Thought the "HUM" and accompanying video was well done but only Rutgers would create a "Crowd Video" to encourage the fans to keep their mouths shut. All I know is it totally drives me nuts when I get into a car he's been driving, switch the engine on and hear that screetchy, whiney, twangy stuff. No clue who the artists are. While I don't know the age of your youngest I presume s/he is listening to modern country vs. the traditional country that we think of as country. Who's knows maybe my musical tastes have changed dramatically and I just don't know it. Anyway, I would put a Kenny Chesney show up there with just about anyone still touring. Hours of tailgating, everyone in a good mood and then 3+ hours of high energy music. There's a reason the guy sells out stadium after stadium every single year.
They probably play "My Cheatin' Heart" a lot in the SEC.Funny because they blast the country music at SEC games every week. I appreciate that the fans represent a different demographic (to some extent) but it doesn't seem to effect the players at all
Well, I mean, actual nails on a chalkboard is the definition of nails on a chalkboard. But I see what you're saying.Even God doesn't think Andy Samberg is funny.
That by definition is nails on the chalkboard.
The live versions "Keg In The Closet" and "Beer in Mexico" should be on everyone's tailgate playlist. While I don't know the age of your youngest I presume s/he is listening to modern country vs. the traditional country that we think of as country. Well, in my online Webster's (it has sound) this came up....Well, I mean, actual nails on a chalkboard is the definition of nails on a chalkboard. But I see what you're saying.
If I'm France, I am scared as hell hearing that. The RU opening drive (Offense) should start out with the first 30 seconds of Rammstein's "Waidmanns Heil" Good Hunting). Would go well with the whole "The Hunt" theme. Either that or hunting horns.
Should definitely be "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N Roses, except whenever they sing "Jungle" it should be dubbed over with "High Point Solutions Stadium"
Then switch it to "Birthplace" since they are both two syllables.High Point Solutions Stadium just rolls off the tongue like a one legged cat trying to bury turds on a frozen pond.

Pre-game and warm up, yes.The music is for the team not the fans
Norfleet from Michigan seemed to enjoy the music waiting for punts and kickoffs.Pre-game and warm up, yes.
In-game it's to keep us interested. They have other things to worry about and concentrating on. And if they are concerned about what is being played during a game, we got problems.
That song is the worst. Don't know if he is the original composer, but the studio recorded version drove people from NJ to take antidepressants.
