Obviously no way to confirm but I heard from someone I trust that the story about CVS being away from the team because of Covid is not accurate. They told me she is battling a serious health issue herself. This would actually make sense with the way the situation has played out and the lack of communication from the athletic department.

If true that’s her own business and not really any of ours.
Out of respect for her privacy, I would hope that no one reports something that her own family is not ready to share. I've had a feeling it was more than just concern over covid. Wanted to believe it was just her trying to get Tim an audition to take over for her.

I have never posted my thoughts on this. To me she has looked confused, even back at the 1000 celebration, and kind of out of it like what happened with Pat Summitt. Also, Brian Shank was glued to her wherever she went.

Yeah, I've been concerned ever since that Purdue game that T Mack had a great game to key the win and CVS' speech during the postgame interview was incoherent. She then took the break for exhaustion after that.

If this is true sending my prayers, but his is not a good look for the CVS advisory team. To negotiate without disclosure is a big no no.
I did an hour interview with her in 2015 and we used two minutes of the footage.
There is no privacy anymore. If you can report someone has Covid you can report someone has cancer.
So to recap, just pure speculation that her absence is due to COVID, cancer or dementia. I'm just going to throw Witness Protection Program out there as a possibility.
a good question, but whatever the problem is, could have come up after negioatings completed and contract signed and in force.
Also Hobbs might have been informed of the possibility of a LOA needed during the discussions and agreed to granting one if needed.
That also could be usesd for the aCovid19 relasted reason that most of us heard was Vivian Stringer's reason to tale a LOA.
As for whether there's a privacy right for this issue, we don't have a say, even if we want to know or believe it's a private matter..
That decision is and was up to Hobbs and Stringer and it seems they seem to have deemed it a private matter best kept from the public .
Some health issues being shared sometimes leads to undue speculation and rumors put out just to hurt someone that wind up hurting more than the intended target.
Do I like the privacy part, heck no.
But accept it as something I really can't change and won't bitch too mush about not being in the know.
But I do hope the only LOA health reason is the one we heard was for protection against COVID19.
and not a health issue that has a possible tragic ending for CVS or her daughter.
The issue itself can remain private, sure. But if all parties knew she had a serious issue before the latest extension was signed, that's not cool because of the long-term impact on the program. Clearly something will need to change before next season, whether that be CVS returning to the court or Rutgers moving on to a new head coach. This is not sustainable for another season.
I have said on this board before that watching CVS the past few years I noticed a change in her and not because of age. My wife has had dementia/Alzheimer’s for going on 15 years and I know what those signs are having lived with it for so long. I hope to God I am wrong as I would prefer she had a serious health issue rather than that!
