If there's one thing we should be confident that Pike can fix, its D.

That needs fixing, but sometimes man D concepts take a bit, especially when not playing together much. Feel like there will be some D discussions AND listeners because of the L.

Would not be surprised that Ace or Martini play a lot of 5 stretch D minutes.

Not Ace will foul out in first half

Pike did have the ball in JWill’s hands for one of the 4 consecutive turnovers to finish the game. That was possession where JWill turned it over with a back court violation. It looked like Ogbole was supposed to come out and set a screen for JWill, he never did, JWill was then pressured and lost control of the ball. JWill was clearly pretty pissed at Ogbole after the play. Ogbole is just too far away as far as basketball experience and skill level from being able to play at a Big10 level. This is a one shot deal kind of season with Ace and Dylan being one and done. Unfortunately, Ogbole needs more years of development and his playing time needs to be severely limited to hide his limitations.

It was stupid of JWill to be calling for a screen 50 feet from the basket. He shouldn't have needed one.

Sears will be covered by 6’6 Dylan Harper. Will be suprised if he goes off for 23 points. Guaranteed Sears will not be able to defend Dylan.

That's silly. Defense isn't Dylan's strength, he will need help w Sears. You likely see JD spend a lot of time there.

I was pissed last night as the game ended and on the drive home.

It was a combination of not closing out the game, getting killed on the glass and in the paint and….watching other fans have fun and be happy with the result in our place. Hate that more than losing.

But today that all kind of washed away, still bummed we didn’t get a real center, but feel like Pike can do enough to macguyver some sort of defense here, even if we are a bit queasy around the basket. It was so fun watching the shots fall. The possibilities of this team being special are real. So much fun to be back in the RAC, I can’t wait for the energy of the first game.

I know we talked about it, but it really dawned on me what it would mean if this team gels and pike figures it out. The amount of chatter already…could be a real shot in the arm for us.
