????????? I'm referring to the knight and not having the block R.

one alternative is fine. Ours looks good.

Thanks be to God we have our old uni back.

ugly as sin, reminds me of Terry Shea approach

building a brand requires consistency, something we don't have
In sports, winning builds a brand. Pretty much nothing else matters.

And those helmets kick ass. Only I'd have gone with the knight logo being a dark gray instead of white.

Snapchat previews the helmets for tomorrow night. They're mat black with a silver knight on the side. No "R'. I'm a big fan of the block R but these look really nice!
i guess getting rid of the block r is ash's idea, a couple of more games like last week and we'll have a wheelchair on our helmets, unless we beat UM

Their third uniform is all orange.
With the obvious Sandusky crap, people seem to forget the run on the police blotter that Penn State's players had during Paterno's resurgence in the 2000s. And thats those that weren't swept under the rug.

To be honest, I don't hold the animosity many have against Penn State. But the uniform joke was there and I am mostly unable to resist such an opportunity. My only true feelings about Penn State are that I really, really want to beat them in our matchup this season.

The list of big time schools that have done the 3rd jersey/alternative uniform is pretty small. Penn St, Alabama, Texas? Not sure on Oklahoma or USC. Can't think of many others.

Get over this. We are not big time and you can name an awful lot of other perennial top 20 programs going with alt logos. Including Florida, Oregon and even Oklahoma has gone with throwbacks. Just about everyone but Michigan, Ped State or USC have third unis. I just can't believe our fans can continue to be so small minded and nit picky about everything. Best thing we can do is support the program vigorously and make even small donations. Have way too many complainers in our ranks and I'm sure the folks complaining do little to nothing to support the program.

How many hooker and drug jokes are you gonna make and laugh at by yourself?
What's the difference between a hooker and a cocaine dealer? A hooker can wash her crack and sell it again.

In answer to your question: trillions. Deal with it.

A brand is meant to be a permanent symbol of a product or institution, not just a current fad or fashion. Rutgers has successfully established the BLOCK R as its recognized symbol for more than 15 years. That cost a bunch of money. It's supposed to be very durable like a tattoo. That's why it is called a BRAND and not a STICK-ON.

Ash and Hobbs would be making a terrible mistake to in any way lessen the preeminence of the BLOCK R as our primary athletic symbol.

Jesus Christ it's posts like this that really show who gets it and who doesn't. It's not small minded, WE HAVE NO IDENTITY and the only time you knew who we were on the field is when we were winning and we used red at home, white away and with bock R. we were establishing an identity and a brand. With the numerous changes every year, we have lost that.

STICK WITH A FKING UNIFORM, A HELMET, AND BUILD A BRAND FIRST

AGREE but you are talking to the twitter generation here with some incredibly myopic people with little business acumen.
We have no brand identity or rather a shaky one at best.

our fans crack me up really. We are known more for losing than the block R. We had the block R in the 60s yet everyone here thinks Greg created it. Let's stick to a profile, win or be competitive, play hard nosed football, never quit and we'll build a brand

we are the scarlet knights yet get calls to wear black.

all I know is that I love this school

Helmets look awful, can't make out the knight whatsoever. It should have been red or a lighter silver, not a dark grey.
